About

The government wrote a paper called "Valuing People, a New Strategy For The 21st Century (2001)". That paper told all local authorities to set up learning disability partnership boards.

The Partnership Board is a champion for people with learning disabilities. We make sure that people with a learning disability and their family carers are part of everything we do.

Valuing People says the Partnership Board should help "people with learning disabilities to do those ordinary things, make use of mainstream services and be fully included in the local community".
