You are only entitled to an NHS Health Check from the local authority in which you live.
This service is available to eligible residents or patients registered to a GP in this catchment area.

Referral method

You will be invited by your GP or enquire at the GP surgery you are registered at.

Further information

If you are between the age of 40 to 74 you should be invited by your GP to attend an NHS Health Check every 5 years. If you are regularly being checked by your GP for an existing long-term condition, such as high blood pressure you may not be invited for an NHS Health Check. If you are between these ages and have not received an invite, please contact your GP in the first instance.

Description of service

The NHS Health Check is a simple check of your heart health. Aimed at adults in England aged 40 to 74, it checks your vascular or circulatory health and works out your risk of developing some of the most disabling – but preventable – illnesses. It is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.
