About

The Horn of Africa Refugee Welfare Group is an independent non profit organization which was set up in 1993 and it is a registered charity. The organisation was set up as a measure to assist refugees and asylum seekers from the Horn of Africa region, living in North West London, to build successful lives in the UK and to improve their well being.

One of the main projects run by the organisation is the Advice Project, through which users are able to access advice and advocacy in a wide range of areas including welfare benefits, housing, education, health, and employment. We ensure that our users receive a quality service and have full access to information about their rights and responsibilities. We also ensure that our service is easily accessible by running a drop in and casual appointments service.

What sets our service apart from others is the provision of:

-Translation and interpreting services between users and statutory agencies.

-Outreach work and Home visits to elderly and disabled people.

-We also organise social and cultural events, sports activities and outing trips for the youth.
