About

Fenprobe Talking News provides a recorded news service for the blind and partially sighted in East Cambridgeshire, bringing the local news to around eighty listeners in the area.

Each week a team of volunteers gets together to record the latest news from the Ely Standard and the Ely Weekly News. Copies from the master recording are made on memory sticks and distributed straight away, so that subscribers get the "talking news" just a day after the newspapers are published. A Post Office concession ensures that tapes can be sent and returned free of charge.

All registered listeners receive a free USB player.

Two regular magazines are produced. One focuses on local events and personalities and the other is a compilation of articles taken from magazines
