The NHS Health Check service is available at all GP surgeries in Darlington.
Referral method
If you’re aged 40 to 74 and do not have a pre-existing health condition you should be invited to a free NHS Health Check by your GP every 5 years. Once you receive your invitation contact the GP surgery where you are registered and follow their booking process. You can also ask at your surgery to see if you are eligible and for guidance on how to book your appointment.
Description of service
The NHS Health Check is a simple check of your heart health. Aimed at adults in England aged 40 to 74, it checks your vascular or circulatory health and works out your risk of developing some of the most disabling – but preventable – illnesses. It is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.
