About

Concern with Hearing - Dorset came into existence to act as a focal point for hard of hearing people who, although their hearing is deficient, use the spoken word as their main means of communication. The organisation is a contact point for the hard of hearing community and their families, and the professionals such as health and social services. We deal with all aspects of hearing loss, with all ages [over the age of 18]. We work closely with RNID: Action on Hearing Loss, the British Tinnitus Association, Hearing Link and the Meniere's Society. We are a voluntary organisation, dedicated to the interest of those who are concerned, or have lost part or all of their hearing. We provide information for carers and sufferers of hearing loss, tinnitus and/or Meniere's disease. We encourage the use of lip reading as an aid to communication. We produce a newsletter for our members 4 times a year. We also aim to hold meetings with full communication support for members, carers and the general public.

The meetings are held in venues with disabled access for wheelchair users, and good parking and with good public transport links.
