Rated 1 star out of 5

After a surgery to remove an infected cyst my son was told his wound would need to be packed and dressed every day for 7 days by his doctors surgery nurse .seeing as the nurse is only available 2 days a week at the surgery I phoned whipps cross's and was told my son would have to attend whipps a&e everyday to get the treatment he needs this is unacceptable.

  2. Review titled Terrible experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 November 2023

7 hours as of typing (yes I'm still here) with my mum who is 76 and had a full and hurt her leg. The nurse who came in to put her gown on was causing my mum pain and only asked me mid way through what was wrong with. Then laughed when she saw my mum wore incontinence knickers and said they are for children. When I just asked where I can get some food (as the drink and food vending machines are broken and the water cooler has no water) she told me the trolley will be round and ignored me. 7 hours here and haven't seen it once

  3. Review titled Very impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 November 2023

My appointment was for 11am I arrived early. I checked in and was advised to take a seat in waiting area. There were no seats available and people were standing. My initial thoughts were, I will be here all day and everyone must have the same appointment times! After a few minutes I was called in to have my eye lens measured by Raymond. Very nice gentleman he explained what he was going to do and checked my name etc. I was then told to go back and wait in waiting area. A minute later I was called by a very nice nurse. My name date of birth etc were confirmed. This was the pre assessment, questions were asked and everything about the cataract surgery explained. I was given a hard copy of information to prepare me for before and after my cataract surgery. I was most impressed by their efficiency and I know this experience will put my mind at ease for when I do have the cataract replacement. When I was leaving I decided I would use public transport to get home. I didn’t know what number bus to take. I asked a nurse and she was able to tell he and instruct me on where to catch the bus. Very happy and would like to thank all staff for being so kind.

  4. Review titled Amazing!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by GEO - Posted on 15 April 2024

When I first heard surgery it was overwhelming but team that took me through the whole process of the different requirements they needed before they decided what to do, and after so was amazing. Before surgery and after surgery care was on top of the level, I was visited, spoken to explained how it went, and everything you'd expect. After surgery care is still amazing, being seen frequent to see how it is healing, super happy with the service and care received

  5. Review titled Great in-person service, awful phone support

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 November 2023

I had an appointment at the start of this month, and the experience was splendid. I was swiftly attended to and had a positive encounter with both the doctor, nurses, and the wider hospital staff. However, I've encountered a challenge in following up via telephone call regarding the equipment necessary for my health. Contacting the chest clinic has proven to be exceptionally difficult. I'm perplexed as to why they provide telephone numbers when seemingly no one is available to answer. Living a considerable distance from the hospital, it isn't feasible for me to simply travel there to speak with someone in person. In this day and age, I find it utterly absurd that no one appears to be managing the telephone lines, or that staff blatantly ignore calls. I strongly urge the hospital management to investigate this matter and find an immediate solution, as the current situation is untenable.

  6. Review titled Phone access difficult

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2023

My GP asked me to 'phone Whipps X for a chest X ray. I was in the 'phone queue for 29 mins and got to number 1 in the queue when I was told there were no agents available and to phone back later. It was 1 o'clock so I guess the agent had gone to lunch. Annoyed? you bet.

  7. Review titled Very grateful for attention and kind attitude

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alexey Ostapchuk - Posted on 23 October 2023

I would like to say a very big Thank-You to the doctors and all staff. My friend’s 75-year old grandmother was admitted to the Whipps Cross A&E on 13 October 2023 evening following severe pain in her leg joint which did not recede for over a week. She had difficulty not only walking but she could not sleep because of the pain. The doctor who dealt with our case was extremely helpful from the moment we met him. He sent my friend’s grandmother to get X-ray images to check the condition of her bones. However, this is not the main reason I am writing this very positive review. What happened later was shocking to both me and my friend who came with me. Shortly after the X-ray, my friend’s grandmother started complaining about her condition and we could see it visibly deteriorate quite rapidly. My friend and I got increasingly worried once the doctor and some of his colleagues took my friend’s grandmother to the rescue suite. Her heart rate and blood pressure remained under supervision by the doctor and other staff for another 7-8 hours during which she also had computer tomography (CT). My friend, her family and I very much appreciate (1) the efforts by Whipps Cross A&E staff to keep the situation under control, (2) a very quick reaction to an unexpected emergency completely unrelated to the initial reason we came to A&E, and (3) the kind attitude by all medical staff. My friend, her grandmother and I would like to say a big sincere Thank-You to the doctor who worked on our case and everyone else at the Whipps Cross.

  8. Review titled Needs people skills training

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I came to see a Dermotologist last Thursday. He was really nice but the nurse/person with him was really rude. I came on hospital transport which was late picking me up, despite me being ready 2 hrs before my pick up time, then there was a disagreement over my wheelchair which made us even later. At the hospital I was made to feel they were doing me a favour seeing me, and this nurse/person obviously wanted to get home because she was trying to drag me out of the consulting room in the wheelchair whilst I was trying to ask questions. I was then dragged backwards in the wheelchair through swing doors to where I wait for transport home. It was not my fault I was late for the appointment and she shouldn't take it out on patients

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Asked me to have a blood test so I had it on the same day. Based on the blood test was told I’ll be on methotrexate however my next appt is now in December - 3 months after my bloods! What is the point of that? Couldn’t you have informed me to take the medication by phone or given me an earlier appt? What incompetence

  10. Review titled Very bad

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alba Marina Vasquez Feliz - Posted on 14 September 2023

Yesterday I went to the emergency room because I broke my foot like that out of nowhere and I arrived around 6.30 pm and left around 12 am with nothing since they told me to exercise as always, claiming that I had nothing and that the pain could be due to lack of exercise and All of this, my foot and insole have been super swollen since Friday and I can't walk yesterday I had to take my neighbor's crutches to be able to walk a little, I can't take the kids to school or go to the university, much less go to work thanks to that they do not pay attention to me, however, a nurse told one of the workers to find me a chair since she saw that I could not walk, so he continued watching video on his phone as if they were not talking to him, for me it is him. worst service in the world
