Review titled Filthy

Toilets are worse than that at a public lavatory in a third world country. I can send in a photo, if need be. This is a hospital, somewhere that you would expect toilets to be kept very clean. Extremely disappointed at the lack of care or attention. This is how disease and germs are spread.

Review titled Ongoing Suffering Due to Delayed Pilonidal Sinus Treatment
by Ritu Thakar - Posted on 10 May 2025
I have been suffering from a painful pilonidal sinus condition for over three months, and despite the escalating pain—especially during my menstrual cycle—the hospital has informed me that the waiting time for an appointment is still 5 to 6 more months. As a woman, dealing with the added discomfort during periods makes the situation almost unbearable. My GP has acknowledged the severity of my pain and submitted an escalation request, but even that has not resulted in any sooner appointment from the hospital. If treatment is not provided when it is needed most, then what is the point of making the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) compulsory?Had the IHS been optional, I would never have chosen to pay it, because unfortunately, the NHS has not provided me with the care I need, when I need it. Now people are advising me to return to my home country for surgery—but that means additional costs for tickets, the operation, medications, and recovery. What happens to the IHS money I already paid? It feels like a complete waste. To add insult to injury, NHS staff are prioritized for treatment, while the rest of us wait in pain. This doesn’t feel like the fair or equal healthcare service the NHS claims to be. It feels more like we are forced to contribute, but left to suffer in silence. This experience has been physically and mentally exhausting. I sincerely hope my case and others like it are reviewed with genuine empathy and urgency.

Review titled Very Rude Doctor
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Kelly - Posted on 14 May 2025
I was an inpatient on Osterley 2 Ward. I had such a bad experience. The doctor was rude, and after 3 weeks, I was discharged by a doctor whom I had never seen before even though I stated that my consultant wanted to see me on the Tuesday after the bank holiday weekend. The doctor had no bedside manner whatsoever I found him extremely rude. I was then called, and I still had another infection. Such poor communication the doctors don't talk to each other so every day I was given different advice. I actually left and was told to go back for my discharge letter which took so long to do and in the end the ward manager called and said she could post it. Osterley 2 was severely let down by this doctor. A man next door had the same doctor and he threw him out so it goes to show how bad this doctor was. The sister even complained about the docto as he was upsetting her patients. If I ever have to re enter this hospital it would be highly unlikely and I'm already looking at being transferred to other hospitals. Such a let down as all the other people had been understanding. Such a big let down.

Review titled Phenomenal treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Cannot thank the Staff on the Starlight Ward enough. Doctors, Nurses, Health workers, Play therapists and more - every one of them made such a difference to our experience and making my son feel calm and relaxed. An unplanned stay of 5 nights and we truly have seen this hospital at its best. Never did we need to ask for anything - everything was thought of. The play therapy really made my son’s stay more enjoyable and positive in what was a scary and uncertain time for him. The doctors were so warm, kind and approachable. Thank you so much - we will Be putting our review in writing in the hope you might get the recognition you deserve.

Review titled Amazing Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Emma Kieselbach - Posted on 22 April 2025
Unfortunately I am not able to call out specifically the doctor and nurse who treated me for my recent mole removal, but their care was exemplary! They guided me through the whole process from start to finish, including after care, with some much needed humour to calm my nerves. Not only was the experience on the day amazing, I have very little scaring off the back of my treatment, due to the great attention to detail on my procedure. I am incredibly grateful.

Review titled Awful experience
Rated 1 star out of 5

During my admission over 6 days, they delayed scanning me so I was kept in longer than I needed. There was no communication between the dr’s and nurses so I was updating the nurses about what the dr’s had said. I wasn’t referred to a different department for further investigations while I was there, despite knowing I had abnormal cells, this resulted in a delay to getting my cancer prognosis (after I went to a different hospital a few days later). They were going to discharge me with no pain killers despite having put a tube in my kidneys 2 days previously, which I was going home with. I could go on and on with my list of negatives but I my only solution is to transfer to a different hospital and never go back!

Review titled Terrible waits for children’s a&e
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 December 2024
The waiting times for children’s A&E are awful. Every member of staff we spoke to was kind and efficient, but in the end we left without our child seeing a doctor after more than four hours in the hospital fun. The waiting room is far too small for the number of children waiting and is a very unpleasant environment full of coughing and vomiting children! Doubling up waiting times with going through the urgent care centre first makes the waits even longer.

Review titled Nice doctor
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 December 2024
Despite their being very few doctors in a&e, the doctor was very sweet. After waiting for 3 hours from 2am the doctor kept it straight to the point and answered all questions i had. She was very kind and surprisingly energetic for 5am. Super professional and knew what she was doing and giving. Might be a long wait but i’d say it’s worth it.

Review titled Terrible traumatic experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Harshitha - Posted on 31 December 2024
The entire experience has been traumatic and something I would like to forget. I was met with very rude staff when I was told to go for the triage by my midwife. I was induced for my labour but was not taken to the labour ward even after entering into active labour. I was only moved into a labour room with just one staff after crying my heart out. My baby came couple of minutes later and wonder what would have happened if my husband and myself were not insistent that we had to move. I really pray no other expecting mother would have to go through such an experience. I wish the staff were more empathetic not just words but really mean it.
