Review titled Great care by Wonderful Staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by peter standing - Posted on 09 May 2025
I went to a and e at 945 on Sunday 4 May and left at 1am next day and during that time had 4 blood tests a ct scan. xray and 2 ecb and full physical examination At each stage during day time the doctor (luke?) and kind and informative. The Lady doctor on night duty was equally attentive with her examination and additional tests before release. The male night nurse ,who was from Zimbabwe was very thorough and caring and the senior lady night nurse insisted on walking with me back to my car on a very cold night, Every one was so exceptionaly kind and helpful including the xray and CT scan gentle man and the reption nurse in the main waiting area whe went to her car to get an iphone charger . All exceptional peolpe throughout so please convey my appreciation and Thanks.

Review titled Professionalism
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Any anxiety, stress,or fear of the Gastroscopy Procedure ,was immediately subdued by a very capable group of Nursing staff. I was treated, not as one of a group of patients attending the unit, but as an individual. Everything about the proposed procedure was carefully explained to me in a most professional but easy for me to fully understand . Every question asked was answered frankly and in an easy to understand manner. Throughout my time in the unit,I felt that 100% of care and attention was focused on me. I likened them as to Angels without wings. I can say to any patient attending this unit that they will be reassured on their arrival and professionally cared for during their visit. I send my heartfelt thank you to the Doctors and lovely Nursing Staff that make up the Gastroscopy Unit of Warrington Hospital. Thank you all,Bill

Review titled Dismissal of symptoms
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 May 2025
I was admitted to the Same Day Emergency Care Centre SDEC on the 9/05/25 for symptoms suggesting gastroenteritis, including dehydration and extreme pain. After having bloods done 4 hours before, the doctor reviewed my case (a man) was extremely rude. Upon entering the examination room I was emptying my pockets (phone and keys) before I could sit down; whilst doing so he says 'can't you just sit down'. After sitting down he says 'tell me then'. He palpated my stomach and after me stating every area he touched hurt, he pressed harder and asked which bit is worse, I was wincing and crying. When I sat back down he said he wasn't 'bothered' about my stomach. He rolled his eyes on several occasions when I answered his questions. He noted I had an ultrasound a month ago which showed nothing, I said yes because my symptoms are a week old not a month and are gastro symptoms not reproductive. He rolled his eyes and said 'I said you've had one, it showed nothing'. He then blamed my symptoms on endometriosis (which I do not have diagnosed) and when I said it wasn't endo and this is a gastrointestinal issue he responded 'well we learn'. He didn't mention my results from my bloods and wanted to get me out as quick as he could. No eye contact, just eye rolls. The doctor spoke to the day after on 10/05/25 (also a man) was helpful as he explained that my bloods from the previous day did show that I have an infection somewhere and explained that I had a bad case of gastroenteritis (what I expected) however he did ask if I had anxiety and said that it was stress that was causing the infection. I am not stressed. When I said that he then asked when my last period was as this 'could be the cause'. I said I haven't had a period since January as I'm trialing a different pill. He stopped asking me those questions and asked if I wanted to go home with painkillers and sent me on my way I still don't have any answers as to what the initial infection is nor any treatment for it whether it is bacterial or parasitic. As someone that works in a veterinary hospital and has contact with numerous immunocomprimised animals with diagnosed and potential zoonotic diseases, I'm just hoping it isn't something I have caught from them I mentioned my job at a veterinary hospital to the second doctor and he kept asking if I worked on the '111 desk' so obviously couldn't understand me I apologise for the lengthy review I would like the doctors to understand that every female that asks for help should NOT be spoken to like that and have their symptoms dismissed in such a way. The HAs, porters and nurses were all lovely on both days. They are truly the backbone. It is such a shame the doctors acted in that manner

I have just been sent to A&E by my Dr, the department was clean and welcoming. I was treated with a 5 star service, from the receptionist to the Nurses and Doctor. I then went to ENT and again 5 star service from receptionist to Nurses and Doctor. Everyone had a smile, engaged in conversation and treated me as a person . Thank you to all the staff on A&E and ENT.

Review titled Mixed experience

I gave a 4 'poor' for my experience at Warrington Outpatients on Monday 10 March 2025. There are many reasons, which would be easier for me to explain over the phone. Please give me a call on 07905 332 436. In brief, Dr xxxxxx was fantastic. Highly professional, courteous, friendly. She was also frustrated that none of the admin and patient checks had not been performed. The admin personnel were below standard: my check-in was not done correctly (I was told so afterwards by two staff) which meant that I wasn't properly entered into the system. I was left waiting. The person who called me at home for the appointment was rude and pushy, and put me under a lot of pressure to arrive very quickly without any notice. I rushed, couldn't find any parking, and was left waiting because I was not correctly registered. One of the nurses was arguing in the corridor, because she wanted to clock out early, and she argued that the NHS can afford for her to leave early. An admin person (the one who registered me incorrectly) walked around in flip flops, dragging her feet. Completely unprofessional. Dr xxxxxx remained hugely professional, despite her embarrassment at the poor professionalism of her colleagues. Many thanks for listening. I would be happy to provide verbal feedback over the phone. Kind regards, Marc

we went to A&E with our 10 month old who was having issues with her oxygen levels. Every single member of staff in ward B10/11 have been amazing with our daughter and I can't speak highly enough of them. My daughter loved waving to all the staff and getting smiles and waves back. Thank You so much for looking after her and helping her get better ❤️

Review titled Shocked and disgusted
Rated 4 stars out of 5

This complaint is directed at one member of staff in particular. This lady came on shift at 8am this morning in A&E she was doing blood pressure , oxygen levels and temperature near reception and had blonde hair. I was in the toilet the same time as her, she left the cubical a second before I did, I heard her flush the toilet open the toilet door and walk straight out. I was disgusted that a nurse would not wash their hands after using the toilet. Hygiene should be paramount to think she is then dealing with patients. I did report this to reception. This nurse should be sent back on her basic hygiene course. You should be ashamed of yourself. As patients we put our trust in nusrses and doctors to be hygiene.

Attended with a friend to Osteoporosis Clinic (Geriatric Clinic). Consultant welcoming, knowledgeable and made us feel at ease. He knew exactly why we were attending the clinic, discussed treatments and plans for the future. The only thing wrong was it being called 'Geriatric' Clinic, as this is an outdated term.

Review titled Compassionate caring team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Emma Bisset - Posted on 31 March 2025
My Mum was admitted in January with a stroke and spent 9 weeks on the Stroke ward. I visited every week, typically Mon -Thurs. During this time I witnessed a high level of care and consideration from the team. It was clear it is a busy unit, with high care needs and volume of patients. The staff got to know me and I them. Whilst there I witnessed some real challenges for the care team, from the patient's. Each and every one of them dealt with professional levels of compassion and care. Mum was really looked after by all the nurses doctors and physio teams. Special thanks also to the admin side who lined up her discharge so superbly. Many thank s for all you do, it doesn't go un-noticed

Review titled Overnight stay in A and E
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by TIMOTHY KEECH - Posted on 04 January 2025
I spent Thursday night in a temporary emergency ward in Warrington hospital being looked after by the kindest friendliest doctors and staff I could ever hope to meet. They were quietly competent, free with answers to my questions, polite at all times and absolutely worked their socks off all day and night. My complaint wasn't serious - I was home the next evening, but, I was told it could have developed rapidly into something very serious had it not been treated immediately. I had a wish to give a shout out to this wonderful team of professionals who are more often complained about for things they do not control and are not responsible for - hence this post. The care lavished on me for my short stay seemed to be equally available to every patient who entered A and E in that time, many in pain or distress and all of whom were met with the same professional expertise and just basic gentle kindness. I applaud and thank them all at Warrington Hospital A and E.
