  2. Review titled Borderline Negligent

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 April 2025

I suffer with arthritis in both my thumb joints and in July 24 i had cortisone injection in both joints. i had a follow up appointment a few weeks after this and it was decided any follow up appointment would take place over the phone. My next follow up was due on the 4th December. The dr failed to make this call. I contacted the appointments line a week later and they passed his PAs contact details onto me. i contacted her, explained the situation and she said she would pass my details onto him and he may contact me at the end of clinic. I told her this wasn’t convenient as i had a very important meeting booked in with my child’s teacher. Needless to say he called anyway and i couldn’t take the call. He left a message saying he would be putting me back on the waiting list to be seen. This hasn’t happened. I call his PA weekly and when she actually takes my calls she tells me she will sort it, she will progress to her supervisor. Still i’m waiting for an appointment. This is 5 months of sheer incompetence, lack of care, and failing to meet a patients basic needs which is leaving me living in constant chronic pain. It’s an absolutely shambles and disgrace.

  3. Review titled Very good care AED & Ward A7

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Barbara Wilson - Posted on 24 January 2025

My Mum was admitted via accident & emergency on Tues 17/12/2024 around 23.00. She was 86yrs, had dementia and previous falls. Mum was frail had an Advanced Care Plan with a Do not resuscitate form. Mum had a significant seizure at home so was transferred to AED. The seizures were eventually controlled. CT showed a large clot on her brain. My sister ( both with nursing backgrounds) were interviewed by senior doctors and the decision made to keep Mum comfortable and support with palliative care. Mum was seen by the palliative care nurse and eventually transferred to a cubicle on ward A7. She died there with family present on Christmas Day. I just want to say thankyou to all the staff involved in Mum's care. From AED to ward A7 Mum and we as visitors received excellent care. The only point I would make is that Mum frequently had two male carers giving personal care. If she had been conscious and her 'normal self' she would have been uncomfortable with this. Thanks again to all the hard working front line staff.

  4. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julie Cuss - Posted on 09 January 2025

I wish to thank everyone who cared for me from start to finish, when I was forced to attend a&e at 1pm on Sunday 29/12 in agony with suspected appendicitis. The care I received from an amazing team was exemplary at all levels. I was triaged w iithin 90 mins and moved to the new emergency day unit which is outstanding and with a wonderfully helpful and cheerful team of doctors, nurses and staff. I received blood tests and a CT scan within hours, operated on the same night and placed on a wonderful ward before 2am Monday morning. I cannot thank everyone involved in my care enough, they were all fabulous thorough and exceptionally caring (with a smile) throughout my 2 day stay - how they did it I be o not know with the obvious challenges they face on a daily basis - some of which I witnessed first hand in the form of verbal abuse of a lovely nurse on the ward- absolutely disgusting, these ‘angels’ deserve so much better! Thank you NHS and especially all who helped me at Warrington Hospital

  5. Review titled Wonderful feedback

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I just wanted to share our recent experience at Warrington hospital. Our daughter became unwell with a respiratory virus and we spent the night in A&E with her. She also had severe conjunctivitis in her eye so we were also referred to the eye clinic for an urgent appointment which we fortunately had on the same day. Following our daughter’s recovery, our son developed a high fever / tonsillitis and we presented to A&E on two occasions with him. I just wanted to say that the care we have received on every visit has been absolutely outstanding both in the A&E department and in the eye outpatients clinic. Your staff are a credit to you; from the cleaners who do an incredible job as the place was spotless, to the HCAs who not only cared for our babies but also kept a very anxious mum company, and the nursing and medical staff- their knowledge, expertise and fast action ensured both our precious babies were able to get on the road to recovery in the most timely manner. I know pressures on services are at an all time high, but we felt safe, well cared for and all staff had such a lovely manner which made a stressful experience more tolerable. We will be forever grateful for you all for being there for us in a time of need. Your staff are a credit to your hospital and we have nothing but praise for you. If this email could be forwarded to the wonderful staff in both the eye outpatients and paediatric A&E I would greatly appreciate it.

  7. Review titled Warrington Hospital X-Ray Department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 December 2024

I recently took my mum, who has dementia, to the X-ray department at Warrington Hospital, and I just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff. They were incredibly patient and kind, explaining everything in a way that really helped calm her down. It made a huge difference for us. Their understanding and gentle approach turned what could have been a stressful visit into a much easier experience. We really appreciate the care and respect they showed my mum. Thanks again for everything.

  8. Review titled Lovely team, appalling service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Disappointed patient - Posted on 13 October 2024

If you need A and E and have 24 hours to spare without food, sleep, information or progress, then this is the place for you!! Team are totally brilliant but the wait times even when genuinely ill are grim. 12 - 15 hours in the freezing cold because the air conditioning is full on. In winter. Drunks and their mates seemed to be able to run riot - phones charged for them, blankets fetched etc. Can’t speak highly enough of the team but it was ridiculous

I would just like to thank the lovely nurses and dr who took care of me during my treatment today. When realising I was upset and nervous about the procedure the nurse immediately came to give me a hug. I will always be grateful for the care shown. A true nurse!

  10. Review titled Staff in Minors were amazing.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Carol Stott - Posted on 15 October 2024

My husband had a blackout and fell causing a severe bang to the back of his head. On arriving at A & E it was disconcerting as the place was packed with patients waiting to be seen and the queue to check in was out of the door. After waiting 45 minutes 2 ladies came into the waiting area to inform everyone that there were over 140 people waiting to see a Doctor with a minimum wait of 10 hours. They said does anyone have any questions. I jumped up to ask one of them could my husbands injury be dealt with at a walk in centre or Chemist. The lady looked at the bleeding hole in the back of his head and arranged for his immediate entry into Minors. He had a head X Ray and cardigraph, the two wonderful female nurses who dealt with him were amazing. They checked every inch of my husband, dressed his would, fed and watered us both and after a Do tor checked all their findings sent us home happy and exceptionally pleased with the service. Total time spent at the hospital three and a half hours. Every member of that department were moving fast and always smiling and polite. They are all doing an amazing job under very difficult conditions. My husband and I cannot thank them enough.
