    On calling NHS about my problem late on Saturday I was directed to Townlands which promptly administered the necessary antibiotics, very thankful for this professional service.

    Turned up with my 90 year old mother who had had a fall. Seen relatively quickly. X Ray carried out and results available and discussed in timely and caring manner. The NHS at its best.

    The nursing care I received at Henley MIU when I injured my ankle was excellent. The nurse I saw was very caring and explained my injury to me very clearly. I visited the unit twice on the evening of the 30th November then again the morning of the 1st December for an x ray, I saw the same nurse on both occasions. Thank you !

  7. Review titled Don’t turn up without a 111 appointment

    I thought this was a walk in service, Sunday morning 0930, oh no you can’t see anyone, dial 111 Sat in the car park Rang 111, explained symptoms, they refereed me to the GP in the very centre I was sitting outside of, will get a call within 2 hours. Sat there for 2 hours 3 and a half hours later got a phone call, which I missed, 2 and half hours later got the second call by which time Henley closed, went to Abingdon hospital So don’t just turn up

    I had occasion to attend the Urgent Care Centre having been referred there by NHS111. On arrival, staff were expecting me and I was seen almost immediately. A very sympathetic and efficient nurse practitioner assessed my injury thoroughly, provided reassurance and advice and a plan for rehabilitation through exercise. I can't fault the service.

    My GP practice had told me to go to Townlands over Easter weekend as they would be closed and my burn needed dressing. We turned up on Easter Saturday morning and after explaining the situation were told that they probably didn't have the necessary dressings - first problem- and that if I didn't have an appointment I could not be seen - second problem. How can it be a Drop In if you need an appointment and how can it be a Minor Injuries/Illness Unit without the proper supplies. Interest levels in patient = 0; sympathy levels = 0.
