  1. Review titled Calm and friendly but professional environment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Very impressed with the professionalism and calm friendly manner that the hospital dealt with a very worrying issue for me today. First time at this hospital - I have always been at UCH in the past but this was equally proficient and thorough and had a caring, relaxed feel - thank you everyone in A&E for alleviating the stress - I’m very grateful.

  2. Review titled Very Approachable

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Have had a positive experience dealing with the team here. I had one of the most professional x-rays in my life and the team have been supportive and approachable thus far. The Drs and Admin have been second to none and accommodated me despite a lot of challenges.

  3. Review titled Shocking!!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

My dad has been in the Thoroughgood ward level 5 adult in patient department for over 3 weeks, he has had multiple surgeries while being in there and he’s experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort. He is unable to eat without using a tube. I went to visit him yesterday and I was appalled by the smell of the ward. It took so long for the nurses to clean a man that had soiled on his bed. Patients are walking around frustrated with their catheters and fluid bags hanging out looking for nurses to assist them with things. When they do find a nurse they get fobbed off. I asked for juice for my dad they said no as it had to be ordered in the morning. The ward is filthy even one of the doctors had to complain and he started dusting the place due to the patients with lung and breathing difficulties. They have several faulty nebulisers. It took a nurse one hour to go round the whole hospital to find a working nebuliser for a patient. The nurses lack empathy some of them mock patients. Rooms are like prisons. Other hospitals have a TV for patients that are admitted. This ward needs a good inspection! It’s disgraceful the way it is being handled.

  4. Review titled Terrible service - discharged with no way of reaching them

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Amina Ghafor - Posted on 29 January 2024

I've had my telephone appointment rescheduled multiple times without my knowledge. I then discovered from the appointments line I have been discharged without being informed and while still on the prescription with no guidance as to how to proceed.

  5. Review titled Some suggestions

Rated 4 stars out of 5

It would be useful to have a lie back chair as I was in it for 7.5 hours and came out w a very bad back. Also if the staff could occasionally catch one’s eye it would be marvellous, as one could get an update on what was happening. Staff of course wonderful and doing a fantastic job.

  7. Review titled Excellent paediatric nursing team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by lilia dimitrov - Posted on 18 October 2023

The nurse and nursing assistant from clinic 4d who took my 10 month old baby's blood were terrific. They were calm, organised and made us all feel at ease. They got the blood quickly and managed to distract him during the whole process. He even got a sticker and book at the end. Would highly recommend this service!

  8. Review titled horrible A&E experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 February 2024

Came to the A&E on a Sunday night with a broken wrist, in excruciating pain having to hold my wrist in my other hand in a fixed position to keep it a little more bearable. I was only seen in 12 hours, although there were no more than 8-10 people in the waiting room when I arrived. The specialist saw me at 9 am, left 'to fetch the x-rays', and never came back. Just went home, without leaving any notes for the next shift to know about my existence. Not even offered a sling until the morning came and the new shift came in. Took 3 hours and 3 discussions with doctors to finally get some more proper painkillers (they just kept disappearing with the promise to sort it out). If they were busy with anything, that mostly was work-unrelated chats and giggles, I had the opportunity to observe for a long time waiting to get some response to my painkiller requests. Had a wring fracture diagnosed, and the most horrible heavy and tight cast work that caused huge swelling and more discomfort to be replaced by a proper one privately. Glad I could use my private insurance to avoid the complications caused by the Whittington 'specialists' negligence and lack of basic skill.

I attended Whittington Hospital with my daughter on Wednesday 25 October and wanted to feed back how grateful we both were for the kindness and efficiency of every member of staff we encountered; our experience was an extremely positive one.

Still sitting here after 7 1/2 hours waiting to be seen by doctor even though I have history of heart failure and emphysema. The waiting room is filthy, as for the toilets they are unfit for use! Can’t believe how much it’s gone downhill
