  1. Review titled Quality Total Hip Joint Replacement

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by SMC - Posted on 13 November 2023

My experience at The Alexandra Hospital has been exceptional. Modern, private, pleasant accommodation with professional, caring reception staff, porters, nurses and doctors that made my short stay in hospital as pleasant an experience as it could be. The choice and quality of food was extremely good and well presentted. I am now at home following their well presented recovery plan. I would certainly recommend this hospital to anyone contemplating hip replacement surgary.

My daughter has had her tonsils out today and we have been so well looked after. Every member of staff has been attentive, professional and caring. Could recommend them enough.

  3. Review titled Ultrasound department need a privacy screen/curtain

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 May 2023

I found the staff to be pleasant and friendly. My only request is after having an intimate examination. I was having to redress in front of the staff without a privacy screen or curtain which was a bit embarrassing and as a patient I felt I had no dignity or privacy.

Delighted with the MRI scanning experience this morning. My husband has claustrophobia and was extremely anxious about the scanner. All staff were reassuring & patient in the extreme . Would like to thank them all as they went over & above to ensure all went positively & that we were listened to ! Many thanks

  8. Review titled Inconsistant

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 June 2022

Went in for joint replacement op under local anaesthetic.Procedure was ultimately cancelled by the surgeon however this is not why I am complaining. In my Pre-Op the week before I undertook a Covid and MRSA test and was given some gel and body wash with strict instructions to follow or my surgery could not go ahead. In the paperwork it stated I should bring the unused washing stuff back with the completed paperwork.Turned up a week later for my procedure and shown to my room.Nurse came 90 mins later to take my blood pressure and fill out some paperwork.Next visit was to order my post op food and then last visit was another nurse wanting to take my blood pressure again!.She also went through a valuables checklist and noticed I was wearing my wedding ring. She put some masking tape around it and that was it.My procedure was on my left index finger two fingers away from my wedding ring finger. At this point no one had discussed my covid results or my MRSA results or asked for any of the MRSA stuff. I was then told by my surgeon that he was cancelling my op that afternoon as an emergency earlier that day had meant that the lowest priority procedures had no time or room to be done.I have no problem with that during these terrible times of backlogs and waiting times however what did disapoint me was when I was told that the Op could not have gone ahead anyway because of the ring still on my finger. If at the Pre Op or at the first nurse visit I had been informed about jewellery I would have asked for soap or washing up liquid so I could wrestle the ring off my arthritic finger. If that had been the reason my Op had been cancelled I would have been livid having waited in chronic pain for 18 months. I do not want this to happen again to another patient and I will be better prepared for my rearranged appointment next month where I hope my experience is more satisfactory.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am very sorry to hear of the problems you encountered on the day of your surgery date. We would really like to discuss this with our pre-assessment teams so that we can improve our processes further but in order to do so we will need to review your patient record, so that we have all the details to hand. Please can you email vicky.walsh@circlehealthgroup.co.uk with your full name and date of birth so that we can investigate this fully. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

  9. Review titled 11 days waiting for MRI scan report

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Brian Maurice Newman - Posted on 23 May 2023

I had an MRI scan for acute back pain. It was done on Saturday 13th May, as of today 23rd May it had not been reported. I'm a retired consultant surgeon, and fortunately my symptoms have improved. I understand staff shortage but this is unacceptable in either private sector or the NHS.
