  1. Review titled Accident and Emergency Unit

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I recently was diagnosed with blood clots by the Accident and Emergency unit and ended up spending 3 days on and off in here. I cannot praise the staff enough. Dedicated and caring doctors and nurses who work constantly at a furious pace trying to help everyone. They must be exhausted but never show it and are always kind and caring. Thank you to every one of you for your care and patience and dedication.

  2. Review titled inconsiderate and unhelpful

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I decided to go to take my daughter to the a&e emergency service department as she was going through severe kidney pain and nausea, she suffers from severe anxiety and gets overwhelmed when she goes to the hospital, I decided to talk to one of the nurses to ask if she could be in a more isolated room because she was having a severe panic attack. they said there was nothing they could do and they moved a chair for her right infront of the door where sick patients were coming in and out! that is ridiculous, who would even think it is a good idea to move someone who is extremely anxious right where ill patients come in and out. we had to wait for 7 hours in emergency whilst my daughter having a panic attack the whole time. My daughters' needs were unheard and left her feeling extremely upset and still traumatised from the situation. As a social care setting it should be your duty to fit to people's needs and make them feel safe and heard. unfortunately, the staff there were not helpful and did not do this at all.

admitted on 28 october 2022 for baratric surgery my overall experience of both the environment and the care I received was outstanding. I was kept fully informed at all stages of what was happening. my care both pre and post op cannot be faulted. I was on robin ward which was bright pleasant and spotlessly clean. my personal wishes and preferences were sought and where possible met. nursing staff were polite cheerful and very attentive. Well done St Peters

  4. Review titled Brilliant

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Following a recent heart attack the care and treatment that I received in bay D of Birch ward was just, such a positive experience. The staff there all appeared to care very strongly about my health and welfare. I would rate them out of 5 stars as at the very least a 10. The only improvement that I could suggest is the food.

  5. Review titled Very bad hospital

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had my mother taken to this hospital because her closest hospital was unable to admit her due to high occupancy and we must say we not pleased at all. She was not able to speak in english, all the details given to the ambulance crew for the next of kin was for nothing. She sat there in a&e for hours ,no reception so she can be called by her family to find out how she is ,nobody even ensuring that she is okay or if she needs to call her family. I was not called not even once to be updated on how she is . I had to call that hospital every hour to find out and staying on the line for more than 30 minutes on waiting and when they were answering kept me on waiting again while they were chatting with each other and forgetting I was on the line listening to their chat. Appalling behaviour .If they know the reception is really bad in hospital they should at least make sure that the next of kin, families are informed about what is going on ,especially when a person who is been admitted to hospital cannot speak english. They deserve their require improvement ,careless . Never been to this hospital and I will make sure never to step in this hospital ever again. On another note ,from the a&e advised us to not come in the hospital unless she is being transferred to another department. How was I supposed to know when that will happen? If nobody is answering the phone or even bother to inform me ? Please do not go there ...is ridiculous and waste of time.

I had to visit the mobile unit at st peters. and I have not always received great care at st peters but the care I received on 28th Sept in the endoscopist unit was second to none, The staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble explained everything as they did it, I was worried but they put me at ease well done you could teach other Hospital staff how it is done they even rang a couple of days later to make sure everything was OK. I hope this is passed on to the staff in question thank you so much Jim

Nothing was too much for them and even at 4am during surgery they were full of positivity and energy. Thank you all

  9. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thank you to all the staff in Cardiology and Aecu. The doctor taking my echocardiogram was charming, informative but also discreet. My subsequent analysis in Aecu was also thorough and conclusive. The Medical Registrar who dealt with my case spent time explaining the situation in detail, and was caring and supportive. Thank you to all of you, including the nurses.

  10. Review titled Give our medical staff a well deserved pay rise 🙏

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Kate Edwards - Posted on 03 August 2022

Spent roughly 5 hours at A&E on a Sunday evening after being sent there by a on call duty Dr for suspected DVT. Was seen by an Asian Triage ( apologies didn’t get your name) nurse who was efficient, unflappable and rushed off her feet, but dealt very patiently with the many people that were asking questions, knocking on her door with a calm and unflappable manner. She is a credit to the Department👍 I had a blood test that confirmed a DVT. Was given a blood thinner injection in my stomach and told to wait to see the duty Doctor. Yes the wait was a few hours, but after a while I was called in and discussed my treatment with the Doctor, who was very kind and had a lovely bedside manner. I personally am very grateful for this facility and the kind caring staff that look after us so well. Please don’t knock it!
