  1. Review titled Great professional service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 August 2024

Having recently successfully undergone robotic prostatectomy at Solihull on 2nd August, (and thank you to all the staff involved in the tests and surgery), I attended the Urology hub this morning for catheter removal. In keeping with the service that I have received throughout this process the staff were friendly, re-assuring and highly professional and are a credit to the hospital and NHS. Thank you so much

We are delighted to hear about the excellent care you've received when undergoing robotic prostatectomy and visiting the Urology hub and that staff have been friendly, reassuring and highly professional. We'd be interested in hearing about this in more detail and potentially gathering a patient story to use in staff training and other meetings as an example of best practice, if this is something you're interested in please contact patientexperience@uhb.nhs.uk and we can arrange to discuss further. 5. Review titled Orthotics department

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Tiffany Hesson - Posted on 07 November 2024

My son, who is now six years old has been seeing the Orthotics department for a number of years now, but I have been terribly dissatisfied with the service. My son needs a mandatory neck brace and it is taken over one year to be ordered and the neck brace still has not arrived. This has left my son with permanent Mark size his neck as he is wearing the wrong neck brace and all medical staff are aware. I’ve tried to call the Orthotics department several times each week with no joy and no one is ever there to help, this is leaving permanent damage to his neck and neck brace still is not there and no one can tell me when it will arrive

  6. Review titled Excellent Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Caroline Cottom - Posted on 23 July 2024

I attended Dermatology for Mohs Surgery Treatment on the 12th July. The treatment I received was excellent both from the Surgeons and Nursing and Care staff. Everyone went out of their way to help and were reassuring as I was terrified. The whole atmosphere of the Department and the Hospital is very calming and you feel welcome. In fact, it was a pleasure to be there and to receive such brilliant treatment. So, anyone who is concerned that they have to go in for treatment, do not be, you will get the best care and attention, like I received. Thank You to all concerned. Caroline Cottom

  7. Review titled Bad experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Emma Garner - Posted on 19 July 2024

I had a physiotherapy appointment today. When I got there the receptionist told me that he had been rescheduled. They had apparently sent a letter out. Which I did not recieve. When she reprinted the letter it stated I had cancelled the appointment & they rescheduled it. But I have not done this & lost half a day's pay to attend this appointment! Receptionist told me my appointment had been rescheduled due to my physiotherapist not being there. I have tried to ring multiple times & no one is answering the phone.

  8. Review titled Bad experience after discharge from hospital

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 July 2024

I was admitted for 4 days. The nurses were great and I was well looked after. The food was not good. Unfortunately the problems started after I was discharged with a catheter. I was told I would receive an appointment within 2 to 3 weeks. I waited 4 weeks and called them only to discover that I hadn't been referred to urology to have the catheter removed. The person who discharged me didn't do a referral. Instead of helping and sorting it out they gave me a number to call and do it myself. I called and left a message on the answer machine and nobody has bothered to call back. I'm now stuck with a catheter which I have had for nearly 5 weeks now and nobody replying or interested.

  9. Review titled Outstanding care from Epoc team and all Ward 12 Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Coles - Posted on 05 August 2024

Our daughter had planned surgery early in July 2024. The whole experience was extremely positive. All staff were very caring, attentive and responsive to her individual needs as a patient, using their obvious skills and experience to provide excellent standards of care provision. We felt safe leaving her in their care knowing she would be well attended to. Even though they were obviously busy, all staff appeared happy in their work and worked well as a team communicating clearly and effectively. This includes Nursing, Medical, Therapy and ward administration staff. The small size of Solihull hospital appears to benefit both patients and staff providing a welcoming supportive environment. I am very happy to recommend Solihull hospital to others.

  10. Review titled Pointless

Rated 1 star out of 5

According to what I found on the internet you can attend either as a referral from 111 or walk in. Apparently walk in is only minor injuries. So something small but concerning like a rash on a child you have to go through the 111 service. Which can take hours to get the same result of attending the place. Why not advertise the place as a 111 referral unit? Attended Redditch A & E instead, lovely staff and seen quickly for what was, as suspected, a harmless rash. Can’t see the point of the unit, may as well not bother and go straight to an actual hospital that will see people.
