When l was called for my x ray the gent showed me to changing room ,l had to change into the dreaded gown but before he left he told me a magic way to put on the gown ,wow so simple so easy thank you .

Phoned NHS111 on a Saturday morning as we had come away for the weekend but had forgotten one of my son's epilepsy meds. Doctor from Shotley Bridge Out of Hours services called us back within half an hour. They managed to find a supply of the medicine and issued us with a prescription which we collected from Shotley Bridge and took to Durham hospital. Got the meds by 11am. Very relieved and very grateful to the doctor for finding somewhere with a supply (it's a new drug so high street pharmacies don't stock it). They were sympathetic and didn't make me feel stupid for having forgotten to pack the medicine. Thanks for all your help.

I attended due to being in a lot of pain- saw by a lovely health professional and felt at ease straight away. The care, advice and treatment I received was fantastic

After a horrendous experience at UHND (for a different issue) last week which is resulting in a serious complaint, I feel I have to feed back about a positive and excellent experience today at Shotley bridge hospital. I was here today for a pelvic scan (and also physio in a separate appointment which was also helpful). The staff were friendly, lovely, kind, professional, reassuring and explained the scan and that all was ok - a totally different experience to last week. I actually felt cared about today and what a huge difference this makes to me. Thankyou to the two staff who I’ve seen today for my scan (and also the physio), please send my thanks to them.

Many thanks for the excellent care and service I received at Shotley Bridge when I broke my wrist. From the appointment being made by 111, followed immediately by a call from Urgent Care to attend sooner, so that I would I would be able to have an Xray at Shotley before that department closed, the care could not have been better. I avoided A&E at Durham on a Friday evening and had excellent kind care from all staff with no waiting. Thanks also for the great service and care at the Plaster Room at Durham the following morning. I feel fortunate to have such service.

I was having a mole removed on the day surgery unit. The staff were kind and friendly they made me feel welcome and reassured. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I was kept informed at every stage of the procedure. Then given very clear instructions for after care. The set up that they use by giving patients their own room meant that my husband was also welcome to wait and felt very comfortable doing so. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone.

After completing the 111 online form about my daughter, I quickly received a call from the Nurse Practitioner at Shotley. They were friendly and helpful. An appointment was arranged within the hour. Once at urgent care, the same nurse dealt with my daughter. They spoke to her and explained everything. Their manner was fantastic and it meant my daughter got the help she needed quickly and efficiently. The whole team at urgent care were friendly and helpful- even late at night! Thank you!

Was sent to the ‘Walk-In’ Radiology for an X-Ray. Absolutely great experience. Lovely welcoming receptionist in Radiology and the Radiographer couldn’t have been more friendly. Add to this the free parking, everything was first class.

I arrived for my 8.30 appointment to have a small blemish removed for biopsy. My son and I were shown to a side room by a very pleasant receptionist, where a lovely nurse took blood pressure and I was to be weighed, we were then offered a cup of tea and biscuits. I was then taken to the operating theatre for my procedure which was carried out very efficiently. The Surgeon, the assistant nurse and another nurse acted very professionally and with loads of empathy. I have nothing but high praise for all the staff that I came into contact with today and would take great pleasure in recommending Shotley Bridge Hospital in the future. thank You Angela Lumley
