Review titled Disappointing A&E Service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 June 2023
Unfortunately we had to visit Scunthorpe A&E this afternoon after my partner suffered a serious fall and needed an x-ray. There were only about half a dozen people waiting to be seen. On arrival we were told we would be seen "soon" but in the hour that we waited about half a dozen people turned up, many suffering sporting injuries which were broadly similar in nature to our injury, but nearly all were seen ahead of us. It seems age discrimination is being practised. At times there were as many people sitting behind the reception desk (doing nothing) as there were patients waiting to be seen. In the x-ray department there was no one waiting to be seen except us. There were three people behind the reception desk, two of them leisurely browsing phones. We still had another wait. It seems Scunthorpe A&E haven't got enough staff with the right skills and there are too many people sitting around who are not adding any value. With effective organisation and management, patients could be provided with a much improved service.

Review titled Disney Ward Excellent Staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2023
Our 18 month daughter got referred to the Disney ward to be monitored as she had very high temp that wouldn’t come down. All staff were so friendly and helpful. We were there no longer than 4 hours as they got her temp down but we were offered drinks and food numerous times. The ward domestic got our daughter some beans and mash and a yogurt as it was past her tea time which was very kind and came back later to offer her an ice lollie. The nurses we saw were very friendly and so good with our daughter. They gave her a cuddly lion toy for being so good which she loved!

Review titled Dermatology - Ironstone centre
by Clazn98 - Posted on 16 May 2023
I have been under these for months now & I think the whole service is a shambles. I had to undergo 3 biopsy's as they couldn't determine what my issue was. Eventually they decided that I have Lupus but I still don't know what type. I was put on medication for 2 months & asked to have blood test done & they would see me again once the 2nd lot of blood tests was back. 2 months later & I still haven't heard anything. Best part is that they haven't even let my GP know of my diagnosis so as far as they are concerned there is nothing wrong with me. It's absolutely shocking!

Review titled No Heating On
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Yvonne Sykes - Posted on 31 May 2023
First review of a possible few but this needs to be said now. I am on ward 17 and have been since Friday. The past 2 days have been cold on the ward and some bright spark turned the heating off when warm and hasn't bothered to turn it back on !!!!!! Totally Disgusted there are ill, vulnerable patients on here and probably all wards in the hospital. Have a thought about your patients and turn the heating back on please. A sheet and 4 blankets on the bed just to try and get warm is no joke

Review titled Missed calls with no message left
by Sharvx23 - Posted on 22 August 2023
I have had several missed calls with no message left! It’s so frustrating. I had a CT scan with contrast and not sure if it’s about that. Can't the hospital please leave a message about which department the call is from, so patients can follow up their important missed calls?

Myself and my husband would like to thank everyone from the named areas of Scunthorpe General Hospital for their professionalism and care they gave to my father Mr Norman Brown, also the care/information and understanding they gave to the rest of the family at a very difficult time, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the family are very grateful for their support and kindness.
