Amazing hospital From the ambulance bay to psychiatric liaison department to lilac ward. They so kind and had a great approach to mental health patients. Helped me so much during a really hard time.

Review titled Compassion, care, patience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Troy Alexander S Peters - Posted on 06 February 2024
I was recently hospitalised due to a persistent and ongoing stomach issue and the care I received within those hours was nothing short of first rate. Although I was slightly upset with my wait due to being in pain this was quickly addressed and was no fault of the wonderful staff helping me but down to a lack of resources from chronic underfunding. Every single member of staff treated with me with respect and compassion in what was a very hard and uncomfortable time for me, including constantly checking up on me and even cracking jokes and making me smile. Every single member of staff at your hospital is nothing short of incredible.

Review titled Double edged sword.

I was treated with care and dignity at all times and everything was explained twice. Unfortunately I could not tolerate the procedure, even though I have had this done before as it was so awfully painful even with gas & air, it had to be stopped after just a few minutes but the staff were incredibly kind, compassionate, and understanding of my needs, and the Dr performing the procedure was brilliant and understood why I had to stop. However, I was rather worried to see someone had written on my red wristband and on the notes that I was allergic to Nsaids, but was ok to have Opiates, and its the other way round. Quite an important mistake to make which could have meant a very different outcome. Also on my paperwork someone had written my pain score reply as 2 out of 4, and mild, it was in fact a 4 out of 4, and absolute agony

Review titled Exeptional Care and Treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Campbell Dunbar - Posted on 09 February 2024
I was recently in Scarborough Hospital for a procedure that required short stay over the weekend, upon arrival everyone appeared to be waiting for me it was amazing, I had the procedure done followed by a scan and x ray, after a relatively short stay in the A&E Department, I was moved up to Juniper Ward, I never knew it existed, but it was the most pleasant stay in Hospital Ive ever had, the Staff were fantastic and the care exceptional, I cant thank them enough for making what could have been quite a stressful situation , and making me feel so relaxed in a strange environment, I certainly wont be as apprehensive should I need to stay in Scarborough Hospital again. Thank you all again!

After suffering the worst ailment experienced in seven decades the treatment given in A&E followed by six days in Oak Ward was one of the greatest weeks I've ever lived. I humbly thank the many souls involved.

Thankyou for the empathic and professional care my dad received today in A and E Scarborough.Dad cannot express himself as he would like and I have been able to telephone and discuss this with staff. I feel we have been listened to and dad's experience has been a lot calmer because of this. I have been contacted regularly throughout dad's visit by Sara Haines the physio who has been amazing and has made the whole experience much less stressful than it has been in the past. Thank you from all of us for your help today .

I can't thank the doctors and nurses on the coronary care unit enough for the caring professional way they have treated my father and myself. Astounding care and knowledge at a very difficult time for dad and me.

I visited today to find out my diagnosis can I say that the Consultant I saw was so caring and professional he explained everything to me and told me not to worry which was very reassuring. He is now referring me to the gastrointestinal department following the results of my ct scan and bloods to find the cause of discomfort in my stomach whilst still under his care . The service of care care I have received so far has been excellent everyone has been so kind and helpful well done to you all .

Review titled Made a massive difference
by Andy R - Posted on 05 January 2024
I recently visited Scarborough A&E as I had dislocated my finger playing football. The service was very busy and the team were working very hard. I wanted to share that the relational experience I had with the team. I noticed what others were experiencing was also fantastic and made a massive difference to the feel of a busy service. Thank you all
