  2. Review titled Friendly, highly competent, well-run.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Blagrove - Posted on 04 April 2024

23rd January I had a heart pacemaker installed. The whole experience was extremely positive. Ten days prior an extremely helpful and knowledgeable nurse telephoned me and spent about 30 minutes explaining what would happen and making sure I was properly briefed, prepared and reassured. On the day, the following deserve special mentions: the day-case ward nurse who looked after me most caringly before and after the operation; the surgeon who ran the operating theatre highly professionally and who managed to maintain a sense of humour whilst being firmly in charge without being domineering; The theatre nurse who took exceptional care to make sure I was comfortable on the operating table both mentally and physically; the radiology porter with whom I laughed all the way to X-Ray and back; the enormously cheerful lady radiographer. I arrived about 08.00, all went exactly to time, I had no waiting between stages of the procedure and I was ready for discharge by 12.15. Highly efficient!

  3. Review titled Couldn't fault it

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul Ivory - Posted on 17 January 2024

I was referred to Urology by my GP in September last year. I had an initial telephone consultation in October with a Consultant who was excellent. He listened and advised and then suggested a plan going forward which was to arrange for a further blood test early January and they would send an appointment. The appointment was made for 12th January 2024 and I was seen by a lady consultant who was very good. Again she listened (to my waffling on) and advised on things but despite her initial thought of discharging me did decide that my concerns were impacting my life and suggested a follow-up in 6 months. Everyone I encountered there were just excellent. My mind is at rest that there is no sinister problem but that if things change for the good - then great and if not then there's a plan moving forwards. Thank you Urology team you were great.

I attended A@E with my son at in the night this week . Was very busy in the children’s area . All staff worked so hard to get children seen and treated as quick and efficiently as they could . Even a comedian doctor making waiting patients laugh and smile .

  6. Review titled Couldn’t be happier

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michelle - Posted on 02 February 2024

I cannot thank the maternity staff enough! I was very anxious, especially at the beginning of my pregnancy due to past miscarriages which lead to needing IVF treatment. I was seen for regular, early reasurance scans, as well as additional scan when I got myself in a panic. Every time I was met by a very understanding and empathetic midwife, never did I feel silly or judged. When it came to labour all staff that seen us were amazing. I can’t thank the lovely Irish midwife who came in right before my baby was born and said ‘if she’s not born on this push she will on the next’ that was just what I needed. The staff on the ward after were just as amazing, there on hand for help but also to bring cups of tea etc. There really is a lovely, caring, consistent approach throughout all the maternity services. Thank you so much for helping me bring my 2 gorgeous children safely into this world!

  7. Review titled I received SMS text request following A&E treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Leonard Fawcett - Posted on 02 December 2023

I received SMS text request for my assessment of the emergency treatment I received on 1 December. When I attempted to respond, I was informed by my service provider that there would be a charge for replying to the NHS text. I can report to you that the treatment I received on 1 December was excellent.

  9. Review titled 1st rate care and service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Graeme Dunn - Posted on 29 November 2023

I was admitted early morning on 23rd november into philip yeoman ward for a complete hip replacement with complications as I have terminal cancer. I was first on the list for surgery due to the complex nature of the operation. I was given a side room which was extremely pleasant as that area and undergone a refurbishment. the anaesthetist came to see me to talk about the risks and possible issues and then one of the surgical team came. I was whisked down to pre-op at 8am and came around in post operative care at 3 pm before being taken back to my room. from start to finish everyone that attended to me were faultless in the care and attention they gave me. other departments came to see me over the next few days and their care and compassion was equally as good where I felt they went above and beyond the normal level of service. my grateful thanks to all that I had contact with, you were wonderful and in particular the post operative X-ray department and the discharge unit and drivers who got me home safely. I had been extremely worried about the surgical procedure given it’s complexity but my mind was put at ease by all who I came across in my short stay. It is now up to me to get myself fit and reasonably healthy . Thank you ruh bath for giving me the opportunity.

We went in with my 2yo to ED with difficulty breathing. We were seen in 10 mins and treatment started in 30mins. Really effective and all done with so much chirpiness and care.
