  1. Review titled Excellent Service Quality

I hope I have chosen the correct unit. Due to my 7-year-old daughter's persistent fever complaints, we entered the children's emergency department after a 20-minute wait. After her examination, we were admitted to the Lian Ward on the 3rd floor, where she stayed for a week. Throughout this time, they were very helpful in every aspect, whether it was the child education and entertainment staff or the nurses, they were quite attentive. Overall, we were satisfied with everything. Thank you for being there.

  2. Review titled Just great!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended A&E today for a precautionary check around AF - and was triaged, ECG'd and then seen by a Doctor. All were kind, attentive and caring - and professional. I could see that A&E was extremely busy, but my waits seemed entirely reasonable. I have separately attended this unit on multiple occasions with an elderly relative. I think the team are great - delivering great work with a wonderful attitude under immense pressure. Thank you!

I got rushed in with my son via ambulance they watched him the first day they left me in a room with no window or a draft it was boiling hot they then moved me 3rd day in at 9.30 being told I will be going home today they then forgot to see him the doctors forgot about my son then everytime you ask you get told they don’t know no one is working together in this place it is extremely frustrating when you have a sick child and the doctors forget about you this hospital is not one Id Recommended if anything is tell people to stay away from here as they need more staff and more doctors on lion ward it will go from one doctor to another doctor there notes are not right or clear because no one knows anything in this place and they act stupid when you tell them the plan you made with the other doctor they need to sort it out I am extremely unhappy with the way me and my son have been tret on lion ward

  5. Review titled Don't moan about the NHS

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Was advised to attend accident & emergency by 111, this poberbly could have been resolved by a my g.p but no appointments available. 5.5 hour wait, however the team on duty were amazing, toilet cleaned regularly, staff caring and considerate, even had a Tea/coffee service with biscuits offered. Where in the world would you have this without being asked for a credit card

  7. Review titled Awful service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My partner was admitted 4 times to ED in a week for tonsillitis and a quinsy, extremely unwell. Kept getting sent home, no beds, dr strike. Lost 4kg between admissions in 3 days, told the nurse whilst admitted to a ward about frequent urination and thirst she said it was down to steroids. He has now been diagnosed with life changing Type 1 Diabetes and cannot help but think if he was treated appropriately and monitored on first attendance this may have been avoided.

  9. Review titled Very caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a hernia operation at a private hospital in Reading which was successful but had a bad reaction afterwards. I was discharged but deteriorated rapidly afterwards and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Berks A&E department. I was seen very quickly and transferred to a ward in the surgical unit where my condition was assessed and treatment given. The level of care was amazing, I felt so looked after and considering the number of people they see and pressure they are under, they made me feel special. I was regularly checked through the night and they were so caring. For me that is what it's all about, the quality of the people and feeling safe and cared for. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Urology “One Stop Clinic “

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Thomas Lanham - Posted on 29 January 2024

I’m on my 5th appointment at the Urology Clinic. I was referred at the end of August 2023 to the urology one stop clinic. I have appointment next Saturday 3/02/24. I’m still 2 appointments away from any treatment. That means at least 6 or 8 visits to the rbh hospital One Stop Clinic is a total joke. At my first appointment I saw a consultant (Vitalis) who told me other appointments would follow. I thought one stop clinic. There was one doctor and one nurse in the clinic. I was the only patient there. No other treatments on the day. At this appointment I informed the doctor they I was not available for test until after 19/12/2023. I later received a letter asking me to attend an appointment on 16/12/2023. Even at this early stage of my experience of Oncology at the RBH I was starting to worry that the left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing. One stop clinic I don’t think so.
