Review titled A lovely example of NHS teamwork at its best

I brought my child to the minor injuries team as they'd injured their arm during PE at school. The nurse in minor injuries was reassuring and helpful as was the lovely team in radiography. It was the first x-ray my child had received and they were understandably scared. One of the assistants reassured them, explained what the noises were etc and made the whole experience much better than it could have been. A lovely example of NHS teamwork at its best. (And thankfully just a sprain, no break).

This is a super busy department, however the care and kindness shown to me were second to none. From reception to x-ray, physio to consultant and all the staff in surgery, I was blown away. And I just want to say thank you for helping me in my time of need. Xx

I’m not from this area but had an accident which involved breaking my collar bone, the doctors and nurses that looked after me were really good and had an amazing bedside manner, I was in there for a long time but it was busy so it’s to be expected

I just had day surgery, wisdom teeth removal under general anesthesia. Every single person I encountered from the various receptions right through to nurses, surgeons and health care workers were friendly and kind. I've never been at a more thoughtful hospital. Little things like dressing you in your gown, providing ice cream in recovery and sending you home with pain relief and ice packs - without asking for it at all - made a huge difference. There was a wait but because of the thoughtfulness of the staff I didn't feel any frustration.

The staff here were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, really helpful, just generally lovely. Despite being really busy they didn’t show that at all and were just generally brilliant. I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. I also saw them deal with other people, including an upset child, and they were so friendly and sympathetic. Thank you to you all

I was completely blown away by the service I received in the minor injuries unit at QVH - words cannot do it justice. The nurses that dealt with me were kind, thorough and a complete asset to the NHS. I was then dealt with in plastic surgery and once again I cannot speak highly enough about the service I received. I have been in a fair few other hospitals and none of them compared to the service I received at QVH. Hopefully I don't but if I ever need similar care in the future this is where I will be going.

From the moment we arrived in the outpatients department and were greeted by the receptionist to when we left with my father being collected by the hospital transport team we were treated with the utmost care and respect by all members of the team, the nurses and the consultant. This was the NHS at its absolute best , thank you.

My daughter born with syndactyly in both hands and surgeon did an amazing surgery. I was really scared for my one years old baby to do this surgery but I have to say that all staff involved were amazing. Cannot thank you enough for what they have done for my baby and for me. We will continue to have follow-up appointments with surgeon. Thank you.

I had stent/cataract surgery recently at QVH. Although I was apprehensive about the actual procedure, I was more concerned about having a cover over my face as I am very claustrophobic. I need not have worried - the theatre staff were so kind and reassuring and raised the cover slightly so I didn't feel too enclosed. It was nice and bright and airy in the theatre and music was playing on the radio. The theatre staff checked on me several times to make sure I was ok and the surgeon explained what she was doing throughout the op. Before I knew it the op was over - no pain, no claustrophobia and nothing to worry about whatsoever. Thank you so much to all the team - from the admission staff right through to the discharge staff. I couldn't have wished for a better experience. Everyone was so professional throughout and also so kind and caring. I certainly won't be worried when I return for cataract surgery on my other eye.

I cannot recommend highly enough, all of the staff from admin, check in, porters, HCA's, nurses, ward staff and of course the consultants are amazing, cheerful, kind, compassionate and an exceptional reflection of the NHS at its very best. My initial consultations through to surgery and follow up care has been outstanding. A truly wonderful hospital experience, thank you all so very much!
