  1. Review titled Poor Wait times and unhelpful staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Stacey - Posted on 09 April 2024

After calling 111 and be booked in to urgently treatment at Poole A&E due to breathing difficulties I was advised by 111 they will get me straight in for a chest xray, upon arrival I got told no your just here and will wait the same time as everyone else (2hrs 40 mins the screen said) I agreed and sat down and waited and waited and waited I was given a blood test a ECG and blood pressure test then left in pain in the waiting for a collective 7.5 hours in total by which point I just left. The waiting area is small not ventilated and the water machine was broken leaving people such as myself being sat there for 7 plus hours with no hydration. They had two small empty jugs aswel so aware machine is broken just not making and effort to provide basic needs to patients.

I had an appointment today with ENT after being seen last night in urgent treatment centre. I was seen at the appointed time exactly, no waiting at all. Friendly staff carried out a procedure on my ear immediately and I was out of the door within half an hour. I'm so impressed with the service and the speed, thank you very much.

  3. Review titled Fracture Clinic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gill - Posted on 13 March 2024

I visited the fracture clinic at an appointed time this week for a fractured wrist recast. The whole experience was so smooth, effortless and a credit to the NHS. All the staff, whether medics or receptionists, were superb and the whole place was running smoothly and calmly and quite honestly, a pleasure to be a part of as required. I give the Hospital a 5* review and am so pleased to share my overall experience as the NHS is all about taking care of us all in our hour of need and most definitely never ever should be taken for granted. Fabulous, thank you so much.

  4. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gareth, Wimborne - Posted on 21 March 2024

I was referred to A&E after calling 111. I was immediately booked into the urgent care team for an appointment with a nurse practitioner. I waited less than 5 minutes and was seen, she quickly called ENT team and made me an appointment the following day as the relevant registrar was not in until the morning. I was expecting to be waiting for hours, but was turned around and out the door with a specialist appointment within 15 minutes, outstanding service thank you.

  6. Review titled Decent practice far away from you a&e

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mario - Posted on 01 March 2024

In summary, I called 111 because I was having headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Paramedics got in touch with me soon after. They recognised that I could get myself to a&e. I felt nauseated, lost my balance while standing, and decided to take a taxi instead. I got to e&e. The doctor advised me to take medication after comparing my symptoms to those from years ago(how come, symptoms persist the same all life, nothing change, don't we get older ? where is profesionality/expertise?). That's it. I was so sick that I could hardly stand on my legs, and this is an e&e excellent practice with talk in news and newspaper ,how NHS save lifes(sorry not everyone)? You saved resources and money in my case, good but you can apply it a a private sector company, not in heath care. If you claim that you provide excellent practice and services then why I did not get it?! Now, in order to check the blood sugar level, if you present to an emergency room with symptoms similar to mine, they must take your blood. Since this will inform you of what comes next. Additionally, an ECG must be performed if you present with symptoms similar to mine. These two actions are fundamental standard protocols that should always be followed in case of emergency. I speak for myself; I don't visit the emergency room to talk, smile, or inquire about a title. They have an obligation to attend. Physicians pledged to save lives. A decent practice is far away from you.

  7. Review titled Abuse by outpatients

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Ken Taylor - Posted on 04 February 2024

Received message saying I had failed to attend an appointment, I spent 2 days trying to make contact, and was told by my surgery to try outpatients: Call 1 too busy try later,. call 2 after 45 mins I had a reply. Receptionist offered to give me a number I asked will I get through today? reply "no"I explained the problem then she accused of swearing and cut off. I was frustrated, I never swear but as a cancer sufferer with frustration I did say "I have been trying to find out what is going on and said I have been trying to find out for 2 ruddy days, I still have no answer,

  10. Review titled Outstanding Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 December 2023

I regularly have to attend Poole hospital as a day patient at least twice a year for the last 8 years following a major operation for throat cancer. The overall experience is second to none and I cannot praise them enough all of the staff are thoroughly professional, caring and explain every stage of the procedure. Having been a patient in various hospitals across the country throughout my lifetime I can honestly say they set the standard all the other hospitals should try and attain.
