Took my 5 year old son in tonight with an open head wound, and I absolutely cannot thank the staff enough! The receptionist was amazing, drawing with my lad, he even wrote her a card to say thank you! The nurse who assessed him was friendly and thorough! And the Dr was kind and gentle gave us some dressings to come home with. In and out within 40 minutes!

I went for my MRI this evening 30/10 and was met with the most delightful lady, she kept me fully informed of everything and was just genuinely lovely and out me at ease when I felt a little unsure of the MRI. Thank you, there is a reason you have been in that dept for so long.

I had problems with my ears and was referred to the ENT Clinic by my surgery.I arrived early and was immediately booked in I had just sat down when I was taken off for a hearing test with a very pleasant and competent audiologist. I then returned to the waiting room and was immediately seen by a very capable and knowledgeable Consultant. My problems were rapidly resolved and I was discharged. My grateful thanks to the ENT Department for their efficiency and good humour. Every time I visit Newark Hospital it is the same - a wonderful place to be treated by caring and committed Staff Newark folk are very fortunate to have this facility

Thankyou to all the staff we encountered yesterday evening at the Newark Urgent Care Centre. All were kind, compassionate and person centred. They spoke directly with my daughter and were clear in their communication and friendly but professional in manner making us both feel at ease. Thankyou.

  5. Review titled Excellent all-round care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I spent 5 days on Sconce Ward and the experience was as pleasant as it could be given the circumstances. The staff were attentive and extremely caring, the doctors were efficient and knowledgeable and the physio could not have been more thoughtful. The food was of hotel quality, always hot, nutritious and tasteful. I could not compliment the hospital more highly.

  6. Review titled Doctors lovely, one nurse a bit abrupt

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Brought my son in with a wheeze and chesty cough - he's not a known asthmatic. Nurse was abrupt and made a rude comment asking why I'd not taken him to ED ( the Urgent treatment centre is nearer to us ) Told me off for not calling 111 first ( I didn't seem the need, as had decided to take him to hospital ) and once he was settled into a bay with monitoring, I went out for 1 minute to get an extension on my car park ticket. The nurse came running after me and shouted right accross the car park that I should forget about the car and shouldn't have left the unit ( I was literally just outside ) Felt like I was a naughty school girl being told off by the headmaster and came back into the unit really upset as was allready feeling overwhelmed about my son. Doctors lovely and frequently checked on us. Once decision made about treatment, it was quick and efficient, they kept me informed of the plan. Cup of tea make by one of the assistants was very welcome along with the sandwich for my son who hadn't felt upto eating all day. I work for the NHS and there are always campaigns about not using ED unless it's a genuine emergency. I went to the Urgent Treatment centre as thought it was the right place to go- and got told off for it. QMC ED often has 12 + hour waiting times so I went where I thought I could be seen the quickest. Aside from 1 staff member being rude, it was a positive experience with a good outcome for my son.

  7. Review titled Great speedy service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

With all the current delays at A&E in Lincoln, i went to Newark Urgent Care with a suspected broken foot. Within 30 mins of arriving i had seen the nurse practitioner and had an Xray . I then waited for 40mins to see the nurse practitioner again(she apologised for the delay, which was due to an emergency) where i was discharged with appropriate advice. So the whole visit was an hour and a half in total. I do know if you needed to see a doctor the wait was about 2 hours, but for me it was a fabulous service. Everyone was super friendly too.

  8. Review titled Organised and good service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had to take my daughter to the urgent walk in centre this evening due to there being no doctor’s appointments available at our local surgery. The nurse saw us for the initial consultation within a few minutes of arriving and we were seen within the hour by the doctor which I thought was really good. The dr was very knowledgable and came across in a positive way. All in all the whole visit was as good as it could have been and my daughter didn’t feel distressed at anytime. So just wanted to say thanks 😊

  9. Review titled I felt respected and cared for

I felt respected and cared for from the instant I walked in the front door. The place is meticulously clean, with friendly staff only too willing to help as well as to repeat advice.

  10. Review titled Wonderful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 March 2023

I had occasion to visit Urgent Care in Newark Hospital, not life-threatening but nonetheless of concern. The staff (2 nurses) who dealt with me were wonderful, all smiles and a little light chatter to calm the nerves while necessary tests were completed, but compassionate and empathetic. These are the 'real' face of the NHS, caring and thoughtful. Thank you so much for putting my mind at rest. The middling review of 'same sex accommodation' is solely because I have no idea what the arrangements are, simply that I was treated as I would wish everyone to be treated.
