Review titled Excellent health service
by scorpio54 - Posted on 13 June 2023
The health service was excellent. All staff were exceedingly polite. They put me at my ease. The consultant explained the Dupuytrens fasciectomy procedure in full detail before the operation which was very helpful. The anaesthetist was also very helpful and her explanation was very clear and the anaesthetic worked perfectly. All nursing staff were very caring. The pre-operation interview was very thorough and explanatory. The operation went according to plan.

We collected my nan following discharge yesterday, there are signs everywhere saying pay for parking within 24 hours or you will be fined, i tried 18 times yesterday and again today with noone answering, called the switch board who said thats the only number and keep trying! I sincerely hope fines are not being sent when it seems it is impossible to pay!

Came by ambulance on a Saturday morning still her a week later only care is antibiotics by drip and no chance of surgery because on waiting list for another NHS trust so they won't do surgery and doctor treating me is a stomach doctor not gall bladder surgeon so not interested in taking gall bladder out as on waiting list with another trust even though I will probably be back in a hospital in the coming weeks

I was in for a haglund excision and Achilles tendon debridement and repair. What an amazing team, before, during and aftercare was simply faultless.

Review titled Grateful
Rated 1 star out of 5

Arrived via ambulance to the receiving hub. Given a cubicle due to projectile vomiting and diarrhoea in the day. Felt grateful for a cubicle but when l asked for a commode and toilet paper was told to use wet wipes that was on the machine for taking blood pressure earlier. Very undignified, especially given l was brought in with diarrhoea. I felt left to fend for myself. I needed help and little was provided while l was in the apartment. I had to ask for everything nothing was part of a care plan but just left in this room. I'm an ex nurse and feel the standards have really dropped. No one would I've been left without toilet paper or towels or even a sink in a cubicle if they came in with diarrhoea or vomiting. When I asked them when I would be seen by a doctor they said they didn't know. I was left with a prescription which I had to get myself. I felt in near collapse as I left the hospital no better than when I came in what's a great pity that's opportunities were missed.

Review titled A Life-Saving Experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 November 2023
Having given birth here in April 2019, I knew that I wanted to give birth here again. When I apprehensively went in 5 weeks before my due-date as I felt that something was ‘off’, I was treated with respect and reassured that my feelings were valid and that I was right to attend, despite having no specific symptoms/concerns. Two hours later, I was given an emergency C-Section with paediatric specialists in attendance. My baby had the cord wrapped around his neck and stopped breathing 3 times shortly after birth. My baby’s life was saved by skilled staff - had I not been listened to, my baby would not have made it, if that I am sure. After 3 rounds of resuscitation, my baby was transferred to NICU where he again received amazing care, and we were reunited on day 3 in the transitional care ward, where we were both monitored before going home on the evening of day 4. We were discharged with multiple avenues of support. From the start, I felt silly because there was nothing I could ‘put my finger on’, other than a sense of something being ‘off’. Despite this, the staff believed me and trusted in my senses, and this led to my baby’s safe delivery and excellent after-care. Had the staff written me off as an ‘anxious mother’, my baby would not have survived. Thanks not only to their medical skills, but also their empathy, understanding, and ability to see past the absence of specific symptoms, they saved my baby’s life, I cannot thank all of the staff involved enough - they are truly owed a life debt by myself and my family.
