by Susan Hanson - Posted on 26 November 2024
Consultant in ENT, absolutely marvellous care and kindness shown towards me. Had to have camera up nose into throat, Consultant absolutely marvellous, kind and gentle man, the nurse his nurse and assistant was an absolute star, she totally understood my fears, comforted and reassured me. Explained everything all the time. This is why the NHS is great.

So after being passed from 1 hospital to 111 and then to kingsmill, I arrived just before 12 and the nurse was amazing from start to finish, and then the doctor was also brilliant and together got me seen and sorted and back home by 2! Couldn’t fault anything and the care I received was incredible. Understood my illness and acted quickly. 5 star from me x

Registered at Reception at approx 10.15 am today. Left at about 1 pm having been triaged, seen a doctor, x-rays taken, saw the doctor again and left with black boot and walker - all in just under 3 hours!

Review titled amazing team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by ezmay usher - Posted on 19 November 2024
Ward 14 this weekend/long weekend has been the best thing i’ve ever experienced in my life with a team of dedicated people that want your case to be taken on very quickly all of the ward was amazing. One person i would give my whole heart to is a young woman(can’t name her for reasons) she has worked so hard on my case and push so hard for me to get things during my time there, she was there for me every step of the way making sure i got seen and got the treatment i deserved, unfortunately i couldn’t see her before i left as she wasn’t at work but i would 100% recommend this ward to anyone that needs it thankyou once again for everything xx

Review titled Compassionate, kind, excellent staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah - Posted on 24 October 2024
My daughter attended for dental surgery, she has adhd, asd and anxiety. Even before we arrived we had 2 calls to go through medical information etc, and they asked for my daughter to complete a getting to know me form so that could learn how best to support her needs on the day of her surgery. On arrival they had allocated her a side room so she was away from the hustle of the ward, this massively helped my daughter feel less anxious. All staff were aware of her needs, were kind and attentive. They included her and asked her how much information she wanted, the anaesthetist was fantastic, very engaging and made her feel calm. Staff on the ward were aware and made an effort to make her feel comfortable. I am blown away with the service and care she received. If you are a parent of a child with neurodevelopmental conditions and have an operation planned no need to worry. Highly recommended, a credit to the nhs.

Review titled General n h s
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John cobley - Posted on 04 October 2024
People say the nhs s is struggling and it is I have just had a 3 night stay and all I can do is praise the people and services I have seen and received and seen first hand what the nhs and there staff have to put up with and praise how they respond and react under so much pressure the way I have seen people be towards the nhs staff is something you would not off seen 20 years ago. Yes the nhs is struggling but with all the new social media things, Internet, and the general norm as people call it the public as changed and is changing so fast the the NHS will always struggle to keep up but the language and the way I have seen people react over the last 3 days (no it is not just the young generation) the nhs in my eyes is still the best thing in this country we need to support and protect it with everything we can . Kingsmill is a 5 star hospital regarding treatment and the people who treat you are amazing professional human beings who do an amazing job well done to the managent off kingmill for putting such a great team together to run that hospital.

Review titled Felt unheard and ignored.

I was sent a text to review my attendance at Kingsmill hospital Mansfield. I was given a choice between Kingsmill and Newark hospital. The site wouldn’t let me choose Kingsmill. Now, here this site is refusing my review saying words in all capital letters are not allowed. There were no words in all capital

Review titled Lack of communication
by Rob D - Posted on 09 October 2024
(9/10/24) Went in breathing issues erc (after seeing GP). They were very quickly and got through preliminarys quite quickly. But sat around awaiting bloods etc. Eventually sent for chest x-ray 7 or so hrs later. Could not find my way back to the department I was in, so asked at reception trying to explain that I'd had x-ray and trying to get back. I was shut down and got told to await results on one of the black chairs for results. Wouldn't even take my name. Some time passed, but due to my Asperger's I couldn't take the noise and all the people around me. And had to discharge myself as it was causing so much stress and anxiety, and gave my wrist band with all my details to the person on reception who had previously shut me down. I'm now at home struggling with exertion (walking just to kitchen) breathless and coughing hard along with bouts of sweating. And no definite answer to whats wrong.

Review titled Staff experience
Rated 4 stars out of 5

By good fortune, yesterday, Saturday, I had chance to talk with a member of the computer analytical team, of many years experience. I was able to recount the recent loss of my wife, and was met with such humanity, that I would like to say you have an amazing member of staff and I wish them all the good fortune in their future. I was privileged to have opportunity to journey with this caring staff member.

Review titled Delayed colonoscopy results
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 December 2024
My mum had a colonscopy on October 1st, and biopsies were removed. However 13 weeks later, we still have heard nothing, be it good or bad news. I just find that totally shocking for a 78yo with cancer, who has since lost a stone in weight. My mum was told they were still dealing with results from people who had been for a colonoscopy in September!
