  1. Review titled Abysmal

Rated 1 star out of 5

I’ve been to A&E 6 times now since December with the same issues, left side chest pain, feeling weak on left side and generally just not feeling right in myself at all- I’ve had 5 ECGs done all normal, normal bloods etc. There have been no further tests done, no interest in doing further tests and no referrals. I just keep being told that it’s my anxiety and to go home or contact my GP. On several occasions staff have been quite rude and made me feel ridiculous for coming in for chest pains due to me being young and I’ve felt quite discriminated against and not taken seriously due to my age. I have not felt heard, or like I’m being taken seriously at all and I’m terrified something serious is being missed due to this.

  2. Review titled Elderly Care

Rated 2 stars out of 5

90 year old who had a stroke in November admitted by emergency ambulance after a fall injuring his head. Ambulance arrived at 8.30am, we are still in the waiting room at 4.15pm - 8 hours and 15 minutes for a 90 year old to wait is absolutely ridiculous.

  3. Review titled Brilliant Blood testing unit

Rated 4 stars out of 5

So quick, efficient, kind and pleasant to my elderly and infirm father. Such a relief, as hospital visits are hard work on the elderly, what with the stress of parking etc. However, we'll be having all our blood tests taken at the unit here from now on, rather than the GP surgery, because of the kindness and thoughtfulness shown by all staff we met - and so much quicker!

  4. Review titled Great practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I entered Gastroenterology from Accident and Emergency. I was in terrible pain and the staff were superb. I was probably quite a challenge at times, whilst they tried to get my pain under control and my medication sorted out! Throughout my 9 days in Hospital, I was treated with the utmost care and consideration. I will remember several of the nurses with great affection!

  5. Review titled Bad reception process

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I arrived at A and E experiencing severe leg pain, the man just inside the door questioned me and said my symptoms sounded like cramp.I had a line of people behind me so the conversation was overheard. He then lifted my leg and twisted it around causing me severe pain in my knee which was swollen. Having had X-rays and a consultation with the orthopaedic Dept it had a very different diagnosis to cramp! I was embarrassed by this man’s attitude as I felt he trivialised my symptoms and should not have tried to examine me in full view of other people. All other service i received was satisfactory

  6. Review titled Neglect

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anne Ravenscroft - Posted on 08 February 2024

My 80 year old husband was admitted to a respiratory ward with pneumonia. He also lives with Alzheimer's and deafness. For 7 days he received Intravenous antibiotics which made discharge back to his High Dependancy Care Home impossible. He returned to the Care Home with what I would call exfoliated skin in his ground and inner thighs plus very red, sore buttocks. His personnal care seems to have been severely neglected. I am also concerned that when I visited the outer ward doors were invariably left open and he could have wandered out. He had a Deprivation of Liberty order in force at the Care Home and I made the ward aware of this and asked that it be recorded in his notes. While staff showed kindness at all times while I was present, I am concerned for patients with Dementia being admitted without adequate personal care.
