Having visited other hospitals quite frequently of late, I was very impressed with Hereford County Hospital. I witnessed examples of team work, I was treated respectfully and incredibly impressed by the duty of care, not just for myself but for other patients around me. This is unusual in an out patient scenario in other hospitals I have visited. Staff kept me informed, took time to put me at ease and made sure I understood the outcomes of my appointment. I observed staff to pay particular attention to the more vulnerable patients around me, ensuring they were comfortable and knew what was happening now and next. Although visiting a hospital is not always a pleasant experience, the friendliness at Hereford makes the need for being there manageable. The work the NHS staff do is so hard but to do it respectfully and maintain that duty of care is commendable. I cannot thank the staff enough.

I would like to express my gratitude to your hospital and to all the staff who cared for me when I visited A&E on the evening of December 25th, and then admitted to Lugg Ward were I remained until being transferred to New Cross Hospital Wolverhampton on January 2nd, for a triple heart by pass operation. All of the staff who cared for me showed dedication, understanding and were all extremely professional and kind. I was particularly impressed by the younger staff, who so often are not recognised for their maturity and commitment. I could not have received better care or support through what was such a difficult personal time for me and my family. I am now feeling so much better and am well on the road to recovery.. Please pass on my sincere thanks to all of your staff and continue to carry out such important work.

In Dec 2023 I had a hysterectomy and it has transformed my life. Previously, I didn't like to be away from home unless I knew exactly where the public loos were; on the days I did go out, I had to restrict my drinking so was often slightly dehydrated. Since my operation, I can go out without worrying, can have a cup of coffee whilst out and stay out for longer. I am extremely grateful to the team from Women's Health whose work and care has given me a new lease of life.

I came into A and E today with my 88 year old mother who had had a fall and dislocated her shoulder. We received outstanding care, attention and treatment during our visit, from checking in at reception to someone staying with mum whilst I got the car to go home. Thank you everyone and well done for an amazing team effort.

Myself and my husband attended an urology appointment this morning.The reception staff, nurses, doctor who we saw with a medical student were all excellent. We then went to the MRI department and again were welcomed warmly and efficiently. Thank you to all concerned for your expert care.

I had an appointment with the x-ray department this morning. i thought it was my hand being done . Unfortunately I should have read the letter I had been sent and would have seen it was down as wrist. I spoke to the radiographer who was very professional and caring she had a look at my hand and spoke to another staff member,who agreed that they should do my hand and not just wrist.I was really grateful for this as it would have meant another journey and another wait. Thank you for your compassion and understanding.

Emergency appointment in the Eye Dept obtained an hour or so after ringing in. Lovely staff and very professional care throughout. By 7 pm in the evening the retinal problem had been dealt with, by laser, and I am left throughly impressed by, and extremely grateful for, the outstanding care and attention received. Very many thanks to all!

The staff at the Day Care Unit, where I had my cataract done were just wonderful. They were kindness itself, with gentle humour, an eagerness to ensure I understood everything and to make me feel comfortable. They went the extra mile to help me and to ensure my wife was happy too. And this was evident with all the patients they spoke to. Can't say enough for them all. Thank you so so much
