Went to tulip ward today for a pre op check . Nurse L was fantastic professional/ friendly and seemed to enjoy her job , nurse of the year candidate . Don’t normally leave reviews, but after today I felt I had to.

  2. Review titled Great department but beware of parking charges

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I recently attended a pre-op assessment appointment at Tulip Ward on 19/12/23 following a breast cancer diagnosis a couple of weeks ago. When called & notified of the appointment I was told parking was free in the designated parking for tulip ward, it was not very well signposted and we had to drive through multiple parking areas to get to Tulip Ward parking but there were no signs about parking charges but as I had already been told parking was free so we didn’t worry about that! Today (27/12/23) we have received a £60 parking penalty notice in the post! Apparently because we were parked for 40 mins and the free parking is for 30 mins or less. Had we have known that I would have paid for parking. This should be made clearer to patients and signage in place.

  3. Review titled Positive experience

Went to Tulip Ward for pre-op assessment. The staff, from reception to nursing were magnificent, upbeat and immensely courteous. Nice that everyone wishes you "Good Morning" - a minor thing but one that suggests a further level of care. Thank you.

  5. Review titled Great service but watch out for car parking

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Took my dad here for a pre op assessment recently. Can’t fault the service but… over the phone she gave me the appointment details, directions to the hospital and followed up with there is free car parking here. Great I said, we don’t get anything for free usually! Taking her at face value, I stupidly didn’t check as I was super impressed with no parking charges only to be fined £60 2 weeks later!! Not very happy.

  6. Review titled Poor communication practices

Rated 1 star out of 5

We had to wait over 8 hours to see a psych liaison nurse and after we queried where we were in the queue we were referred to see a doctor without any explanation. The entire mental health service at King George’s hospital is crazy and there is no advantage to having Goodmayes hospital next door as the psychiatric team use their co location as an excuse not to see anyone. Appalling to treat any patient like this but even worse when someone is at their most vulnerable needing such a vital support in today’s society. The communication between teams is abysmal and when the nurses in Major tried to find out an estimated arrival time they were brushed away by the psyche liaison nurse on duty at midnight on the 14th March was absolutely rude and helpful and wouldn’t give any information.

  9. Review titled Concern over communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

My cousin was admitted to the hospital and there has been no communication at all from the hospital despite ringing multiple times. We are receiving distressing calls but there has been no update on treatment, medication or general welfare of the patient. It is very upsetting and concerning to experience thos complete lack of interest. I know they are busy and understaffed but it is a priority to care for the patients and their families.
