I can’t thank all the nursing staff and superb Canadian dr for all their care of my Mum in A and E ( Darlington Memorial Hospital), early this morning. She was treated with total respect and care and everyone was so kind. 5 star award to all.

  4. Review titled Good Endoscopy experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The staff, from reception to departure, made the whole experience one of empathic care along with great professionalism - vital given the often embarrassing nature of the investigations. Every member of staff I had contact with exuded care, imparted calmness and gave encouragement. The department was clean, efficient and friendly. It was clear the the Sister in charge ran the unit well. Although there was the occasional huddle of chat at the Nurses Station, for the most part time was spent with patients. Every single member of staff, other than the consultant, introduced themselves and spoke to me. They are to be commended. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Fantastic staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amanda Reid - Posted on 15 July 2023

My son was found in Darlington Town centre after being spiked with drugs. He was brought by ambulance ,(ambulance staff were amazing) to Darlington Memorial where he was treated by the staff of Darlington Memorial a & e department. They genuinely looked after him and ensured he was safe. The staff were very passionate and caring to his situation and I truly believed he was in safe hands. My son was sent home safely thanks to these people who endure significant pressure every day and deserve this thanks.

  7. Review titled Great Experience

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Ann M - Posted on 24 July 2023

Attended the Cardiac Day Unit today for an Angiogram. I was really nervous but was immediately put at ease by the friendly, professional staff. Everything about the procedure was explained to me and the care received was second to none. The 8 bed unit was very well organised with very attentive staff. This unit is a credit to the NHS .

Attended urgent care with an asthma attack, visibly distressed with problems breathing for several hours - came in around 4 had blood pressure taken ..... 3 hours later I didn't move incase I was called so exhausted tears streaming down my face still struggling to breath - no check of sats or bp as far as staff are concerned I could be a corpse !! Then found out they forgot about me - still couldn't breath should have gone home

  9. Review titled Fantastic care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Samantha Allinson - Posted on 07 October 2023

The care given from the initial emergency admittance was outstanding. From surgery and identifying the problem to the day to day care on the ward was fantastic. All staff showed commitment to providing an excellent service within an often stressful environment. Feedback and communication to relatives was readily available and sensitivity shown to the patient. It was a relief to know that my family member was receiving the best possible care and attention. I am extremely thankful to every staff member on Ward 44 for all their hard work!

  10. Review titled Poor empathy or care from treatment staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 June 2023

Fractured foot - nurses were rough unempathetic and frankly the two I got appeared like they didn’t want to be there. They didn’t explain anything just gave me two leaflets and sent me on my way. Unable to walk in hindsight I should have raised a fuss while I was there
