Review titled Poor customer service
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 June 2025
On Friday 6th June had my daughter’s appointment at 3:15 pm for a ganglion cyst assessment. I took a half day at work (was difficult as work was very busy) and arranged with daughters school (had to send them 2-3 e mails back and forth as they needed more information why I have to pick her up at 1:45 pm instead of the school usually finishing at 3 pm but did that and got it approved.). Travelling from work to daughters school - 40 mins Travelling from daughters school to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital from daughters school - 1 hour 10 mins Appointment lasted for less than 5 mins. Doctor simply asked my daughter “how are you feeling, is it bothering you in any way” My daughter said “no it’s fine” And the doctor said ok that’s it. We will review it in one year. The doctor didn’t touch/inspect/assess the ganglion as there is still a visible lump so it is normal for one to expect that this would be assessed properly by touching it, perhaps scanning it to see what liquid is inside and how much is it. As in the past that has been done and liquid was squeezed out, but not fully hence some of the lump remains. I was hugely disappointed with the lack of empathy and attention that one would expect and so far this hospital has been absolutely amazing but this appointment was particularly upsetting due to the way it was handled. And so after the appointment which barely lasted 5 mins, we travelled for another 70 mins where I dropped my daughter and then another 30 mins back to my work to complete what I needed to do. I wish the doctor reads this review and so they understand what parents go through in making the appointment (hour of back and forth journey and asking permission from work and school) and so can give a bit more time to the appointment and explain the reason of why the scanning is not being done this time and do a proper assessment by feeling it and perhaps ensuring just the word of my daughter is not taken at face value. Not that she cannot be trusted but sometimes kids behave like kids and it’s not their fault. Also I could have asked these questions at home “is it hurting or bothering you darling?” And when she said no as she did in the hospital, simply cancel the appointment as this is what the doctors is going to do (if I only knew) and not go through the rigorous process of requesting work and school to attend this appointment. Happy to provide more information if you would like me to. But I was dissatisfied. Hope this does not repeat as I am more likely to attend in 12 months and I would like this ganglion issue gone once and for all and not come in for appointments anymore. Thank for your time in reading this.

Review titled Great Friendly Professional Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Pamela - Posted on 27 May 2025
I attended Chelsea & Westminster Hospital to have a mole on my eyebrow removed with a Mohs procedure. Everyone was very friendly and the appointment rang bang on time. I had been pre- warned there would be a wait whilst the results were analysed and was shown to a very comfortable chair and table provided the tea & biscuits and a sandwich package. I was recalled sooner than I expected all had gone well. I was stitched up, and 2 appointments made to suit my timing. Very clear post op care instructions. Throughout this and all previous dealings with the dermatology department at Chelsea & Westminster everyone has been extremely kind polite and helpful. Thank you.

Review titled Completely forgotten
Rated 1 star out of 5

Following two cancelations I finally got an appointment that wasn't cancelled. I want as an outpatient, registered with the receptionist and waited. They completely forgot I was there, despite being only a few feet from the reception desk. After having a word with the receptionist, I eventually saw a completely different person, from the doctor I was initially told the appointment was with. I was there to get further information about a scan I'd had. That didn't happen. It was a complete waste of my day and I'm still in limbo, without answers about my health.

Hello dear I’ve been in the hospital over 24 hours it’s been very good and relaxing and in procedure was great and removing 5 or. 6 polyps that’s good but unfortunately today I was in the block D 4 floor and l was in 4D with 5 patients unfortunately other 5 patients having lunch and me just watching them eating and me I was asking for my lunch every 5 minutes where is my lunch and members off NHS is told me is coming your lunch after my waiting time over one hours. And half my lunch is not being served l left the hospital frustrated and stressed with not having any food over 24 hours for me and other one hour and half it’s ridiculous and some NHS is not deserved to work in the hospital and l hope new government reduced some staff off NHS because is not deserved and only running around in the hospital for nothings

Review titled Reception made me miss my appointment!
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Philip Clark - Posted on 14 November 2024
I went for my neurology check up and the reception told me it would take place on the ground floor by lifts D. I go upstairs and get told it's actually on the ground floor (where I was.) I go back downstairs and the doctor has already left!!! This is completely unacceptable and a waste of my day.

Review titled Horrible, rude staff who need more training on sympathy.
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 October 2024
Horrible experience with colorectal team. After having a colonoscopy, I was sent 6 reminders for a follow up phone appointment, naturally I was worried and anxious with the weeks that followed up to appointment, only to find out after an agonising wait I received no call on the day, so I called and spoke to a rude, unsympathetic staff member in the team who laughed my past weeks of trauma off and said there was a glitch in the system and I’d hear back from them. That glitch cost me 3 weeks of uncertainty, it should not be so hard to access biopsy results as a patient, with holding results and a complete lack of communication has resulted in me panicking for weeks. The results where normal and I should have received them straight away, instead I received 6 reminders of an appointment from the colorectal surgery department with no other info. Playing with peoples lives and emotions is disgusting. Staff on the phone especially in cancer departments should be trained better, all the phone operators where also half asleep and connected you to a dead end call. Stupid. I pay my taxes for this shambles.

Review titled Long waiting for care
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 September 2024
I waited over one and a half hours to see the doctor. This appointment was scheduled for me by gp who has to refer me many times since 2022 and 2021 for the same problems with which the similarities of symptoms can be associated. (My GP has to refer me several times every year to their hospital chain. In 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Still different consultants and still the same steps as before, instead of progressing to an advanced stage. Why another ultrasound? It won't change my symptoms, which needs to be fixed. This appointment should continue in the action phase. Or how many years should I suffer pain, yellow and white chalky stool, swelling. I have yellow stools every day, the pain comes every week or then second week and lasts for two to three days. I occasionally have chalky stools with a fever for about one to two days. It is ridiculous to look for excuses not to help the patient. Or is it some kind of bias? We are all equal.). However, I would not have left this review at this point, although I would have had many reasons to if I hadn't waited over an hour and a half to see a doctor while the hospital was not busy and instead of the doctor taking patients in order, he took a patient who was due 30 minutes after mine and was an hour late. As an apology from the doctor, I received that the receptionist did not check me in. When I said that the receptionist confirmed my check-in again while the doctor saw that patient who was supposed to be seen after me, the doctor said nothing and I saw no remorse, which made me feel discriminated and disrespected as a person.

Review titled Fast, friendly and fixed!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Andy Zienkiewicz - Posted on 25 September 2024
Despite coming in when quite busy, I was triaged, consulted, x-rayed, consulted again and pharmacy supplied within 2 and a half hours. My car having a basic service takes a day! All by wonderful staff, who I sadly witnessed being abused on 2 occassions within that short time. God knows what you guys go through on Friday/Saturday nights. Bless you all!
