  1. Review titled Triage

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jane Beaven - Posted on 15 December 2023

I have a retinal tear and was too late to get to the eye hospital so went to BRI, had a bit of a wait but the lovely triage nurse put my mind at rest, talked me through what my options were. She was so kind as I was upset, she rang the eye specialist and then came straight back to tell me. Lovely customer care, thank you.

  2. Review titled State of Public Toilets Area A

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have no problem with hardworking staff and care in BRI. I used to be BRI ward Sister for 12 years . I went to Radiology for a special test . I was directed to the extremely busy Public Toilets nearest to Radiology The Toilets had been cleaned . The Toilets are streaked brown ,does not look good .Cleaning staff would struggle to clean thoroughly. It requires Sodium Bicarbonate and Vinegar cleaning would enable effective cleaning and more inviting .Enabling staff to clean the toilets to a more satisfying level of finish .

  3. Review titled Made to feel comfortable during lung capacity test

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julie Thompson - Posted on 30 November 2023

Friendly, professional, empathic and patient. All my questions answered in a way I could understand! Procedure was thorough and in an appropriate room. No information over heard by other patients. Helped at reception by friendly volunteers to access to a taxi which arrived with 2 - 3 minuted. Thank you.

  4. Review titled Response to a faint

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I fainted at M Shed and the paramedics were called and took me to BRI. I was given a very thorough check-up including a CT scan. I wish the process had been a bit quicker but I realised the staff were under pressure. The care was excellent and I had a call from the doctor in the next day

  5. Review titled Shambles

Rated 1 star out of 5

Unfortunately, I spent 8 hours in A&E yesterday, just to be administered drugs that I told the receptionist and all the nursing staff that I saw, that I had been referred and recommended to visit by my GP. I had a referral to see an ENT doctor. I saw four nurses, which was a complete waste of everyone's time, before they then agreed I should see an ENT doctor. All of which was explained by me, to reception and to the first two staff nurses that I saw that I'd already been referred to directly see an ENT doctor. I was ignored for hours on end, not even a hello, how are you feeling, can we help....just staff constantly walking past. I had no food or water and unbelievably the only options are crisps and chocolate! This was a traumatic experience for me, caused by a lack of communication and caused by inefficiencies which was completely avoidable

  6. Review titled Outstanding People at Bristol Royal Infirmary :)

I can not praise these people enough, their dedication and professionalism is exemplary. their attention to looking after me saved my life. absolutely nothing was too much trouble. I spoke to one clinician about it who said their always striving for perfection, I duly informed her that it had been attained above and beyond. from the cleaners, the dinner ladies to the nursing staff and the Doctors. it was not my finest hour, yet they treated me with the greatest respect and patience. I will never forget them or what they did for me. I can not thank them enough.

  8. Review titled Lovely people!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My mother was taken into the BRI with chest pains late on the evening of May 3rd this year. She was initially attended to by paramedics, who collected her from her home in Keynsham at around 10pm. I am in Hull, so was obviously unable to help at short notice. Fortunately my Sister (who lives nearer) was able to get to Mum reasonably quickly. The staff I was able to speak with on the phone at BRI were exceptional and I am not particularly happy at not being 'allowed' to name them. In any event; Mum was discharged from the hospital this morning (May 4th) and is now safely back home. Can I say we have all, as a family, been deeply moved by the caring attitude and sheer professionalism shown by all of the nhs staff involved in Mum's care. I re-iterate: these people should be named and thanked in person, as well as being properly paid!! Regards. Ian Macleod

  9. Review titled Excellent experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My ageing mother recently spent a week in your care - bri ward c705. Throughout she was treated with dignity and respect. There was a warm atmosphere on the ward but this was coupled with great attention to detail. She felt she had been treated like a human being and not just a 'patient' - thank you, all of you!
