  3. Review titled So Kind!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was in elective surgery today for my knee, arrived at 7:15 this morning and was pampered until I left at 4:30pm. Unfortunately I don’t recall any names in particular due to the anaesthetic, but vividly recall everyone on the ward being lovely - not just to me but to the other patients - which was both very comforting and heartwarming. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the whole department for being so kind!

  4. Review titled Top fellas in urgent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ian Gibson - Posted on 27 April 2025

I went in last night to urgent care...I was 50/50 heart attack/panic attack...I had a pain in my chest that was making me panic more....the 2 gentleman who came and looked after me were just lovely lovely fellas..very reassuring and calming...really top notch care....the man in the red nurses uniform and grey hair should start his own Buddhist retreat...he was just missing some tiny symbols, incense and pampas grass to waft about🤣...we wish we had him at home to chill us out....they brought me back down to earth....I had a slight dull ache for the rest of the night but had calmed right down...so thank-you to them 2 fellas...can't thank them enough and sorry for wasting their precious time🙏

  5. Review titled At last a welcome experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My granddaughter gashed her chin and needed urgent care. Saw the desirable and more efficient, compassionate and skillful side of the NHS for her. Visited A&E Bishop Auckland and she was seen within 5 mins, treat within 10 mins. Transferred to children's ward at University Hospital at Durham to see a plastic surgeon ASAP. Skillful, friendly and efficient. Spot on.

  6. Review titled Unprofessional

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Whilst no doubt the staff appear friendly , as an ex Ward Sister I was dismayed by the unprofessional impression I witnessed at the pre assessment clinic . Staff were wandering around drinking cans , leaving them on top of the reception desk . Whilst I sat waiting with my Father , nurses were huddled around a mobile phone clearly watching a personal video . Whilst this may seem trivial , the impression this gives to the public who are being told staff are overworked and stressed is not a good one , particularly as I know this is the case on so many wards . I do need to qualify this with the fact my Father was seen on time by a competent pleasant member of the team .

After having a stroke I was transferred to Bishop Auckland hospital to ward 3 on 20.02.2025.- 04/04/2025 I would like to firstly praise the domestic team for all there hard work on keeping the ward spotless. Secondly the physiotherapist ( psycho terrorist ) team for all their help i can't remember all their names and also the OT for all her work in getting me home and lastly all the doctors and nurse's on the ward. They are a credit to the hospital and the NHS. Thank you from the bottom of my heart  •

  10. Review titled Lovely friendly staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was nervous about the operation but a nurse introduced herself and said she would be my nurse all day. Booking me in on the computer. The theatre was extremely modern and clean. A spinal injection was given with no discomfort. After surgery a cup of coffee and a sandwich was given to me. The whole day went very smoothly and would recommend the hospital to anyone.
