  2. Review titled Really amazing!!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nancy - Posted on 30 December 2023

I needed to be seen for a severe pain in my side and hoped to be diagnosed as we are due to be away for the next four months. Even though the Dept was understaffed the triage was really excellent and once admitted the quality of care was on a par with the best private hospital. I was thoroughly tested and examined by a very competent team who relieved my mind considerably as the diagnosis was not as serious as I had feared. Although my husband and I were there for quite a long time we were made very comfortable and treated like honoured guests. I am very grateful to all the wonderful staff in A and E.

  4. Review titled Highly recommend

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The maternity unit staff are a real credit to the hospital. After having a traumatic birth early November due to emergency GA c-section the staff were all just incredible, the midwifes are just so wonderful, professional and very caring. I had to stay in an extra day due to potential issues with my little boys ears and staff went above and beyond to make sure things were sorted asap so we would go home. They were just wonderul. Would defo be going back for baby number 2 :)

  6. Review titled Excellent and efficient service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Kuganeasan Thambipillai - Posted on 15 November 2023

I was in emergency services for probable gastrointestinal bleeding caused by black diarrhea. I had to wait like 5 hrs . But finally was served and got the all clear. Despite the constant influx of patients the staff cooed exceptionally well each doing like 2 persons job to cope. Towards 6 there were only few remaining staff but they still cooed and put up with constant pressure. Well done to the team of staff on emergency services .sometimes people are impatient they don't realise that the service is not on a first come first service notice but on a priority case by case basis. Perhaps a sign if not already in place would help calm people.many thanks for excellent service.

  7. Review titled Impressive service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mr Francis Knott - Posted on 03 November 2023

I presented at A & E about four weeks ago with a very concerning urology issue . The department was very busy and clearly struggling with the high demands of the evening, yet seemed to be dealing with everyone’s needs very professionally and patiently . My own treatment resulted in some tests and an overnight stay at Winchester Hospital urology dept for observation before discharge later that day. My treatment here had been excellent also and I was referred for a Uro CT scan which occurred a week or so later. In a matter of three weeks I had received the CT and flexible cystoscopy scans, a pre operation assessment and an admission to the Diagnostic and Treatment Centre for day care surgery . In conclusion I would very much like to highlight my appreciation of the speed at which I have been treated and the courtesy and amazing professionalism of all the staff that I had the pleasure to come into contact with. I know the NHS is under huge pressures at the moment and my expectations had not been too high but to witness the service I received at Basingstoke and Winchester Hospitals at such close hand and its expertise with such calm efficiency is something I shall remember for a long time.

  8. Review titled What lovely people

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Roger Hollings - Posted on 01 November 2023

I only had a small biopsy on my back but because I had have a fear of needles I was very tense but as soon as they noticed, they immediately put me at ease. right throughout the small op they kept assuring me and I genuinely became quite relaxed. as advised to remove the plaster after 48 hours, I have just done this and having a healthy hairy back I found it more stressful than the op itself :-) Ladies, you were both fantastic and I thank you so,so much for the care and understanding you gave me. whatever you are being paid, it should be doubled! xx Roger

  9. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had an excellent experience at c4 and the dtc all staff were wonderful and they all were mindful that I am a trans man (female to male). The care I received was excellent and my consultant gave me plenty of time to ask any questions. All the nurses were great and so friendly. I was in a side room and the staff joyfully chatting to each other always bought a smile to my face.

  10. Review titled Wonderful service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gill Gleeson - Posted on 05 September 2023

I attended A&E at around 9.30 am. The department was busy. I was suffering excruciating pain across my back and my front left side. I was triaged within minutes, had blood taken and told it looked like Meningitis. I was offered pain relief and it helped immediately. I was seen by a doctor who confirmed that it was Meningitis. I was prescribed medication and discharged within around 4 hours. The staff involved were very helpful and efficient. Please pass my thanks on to all those involved.
