  1. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Bev Allen - Posted on 08 January 2024

In January, I attended a chest X-ray recommend by my doctor. The receptionist was very caring and friendly. I was called in shortly after one person so the whole process was over in 5 minutes. I was very impressed how efficient and friendly all the staff were. I also attended the walk in Minor Injures Dept in November as I had something in my foot. The X-ray was quick and I went back to see the nurse who could not see anything on the X-ray. She had a look inside the cut on my foot and found I had a hair pierce my foot and was embedded deep inside. The nurse managed to remove the hair and was extremely friendly and patient with me. I have always encountered fabulous treatment at Abingdon Hospital, sometimes they are extremely busy but I haven’t had to wait more than an hour at any time. Thank you to all the wonderful staff that work there.

  2. Review titled Thoughtful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paula - Posted on 25 April 2023

I arrived with a nasty cat bite and was treated really efficiently and thoughtfully. I was examined, x-rayed to look for tooth fragments and my wound was dressed. I returned two days later as l was concerned it had become infected. I again received a warm welcome before being examined and reassured before my wound was redressed. I cannot praise the staff enough for their caring manner which l found very reassuring. Visiting a hospital can be very stressful however Abingdon Community hospital is a real shining example of how a hospital can see the bigger picture and put the patients needs first. Well done all the team !

  3. Review titled Such an amazing place with brilliant staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kate - Posted on 08 March 2023

We visited the minor injuries unit, because my daughter had taken a fall and cut her head. I cannot fault the experience from start to finish. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the facilities for children were 2nd to none, and every little detail has been thought of to make the experience a positive one for little people. Thank you from a harried mother of two little ones and a little girl who is delighted with her Love Heart bear and proud of her special glue!

The staff clearly want to do a good job. On my visit, they succeeded. It was easy booking in and I was quickly seen.

  7. Review titled Xray department closed

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Julia - Posted on 30 August 2022

We have visited twice in the last 2 weeks to find a note in the car park saying that the Xray department was closed due to staff shortages. While this is understandable, what is not satisfactory is not being able to find this out before attending. I phoned to ask before the second attempt - the reception did not know, and the X-ray department did not respond, although the message said that it was open. As the patient has dementia, this was extremely distressing.

Hello, thank you for your feedback I am sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience recently taking a patient to an X-Ray appointment. I appreciate given the circumstances of the patient, it must have been very disappointing to arrive to find out that they could not be seen. However, Some of the Services at Abingdon Hosptital are run by our Trust, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, the X-Ray department is run by the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. Should you wish to contact them, please find their details below: https://www.ouh.nhs.uk/patient-guide/feedback/pals.aspx email: PALS@ouh.nhs.uk I do hope that you manage to re-arrange the appointment soon if you have not done already. 8. Review titled Referred by GP for an X-Ray

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 May 2022

This is a drop in clinic, so I turned up expecting to wait a couple of hours in a noisy hot waiting room (as most previous experiences with x-ray departments) The lady behind the desk was friendly and efficient, my details were taken and I sat awaiting to be seen in a very comfortable quiet waiting room! Although in a queue of other people the turnover was very quick and I was seen very quickly. The ladies doing the x-ray were happy, friendly and made me feel at ease. I was in and out and dealt with in a very professional way. I cannot rate this x-ray department highly enough. Well Done

  9. Review titled Minor injuries unit - horrible service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 May 2022

Very bad organisation, lack of information. The waiting time was very misleading. First, they told me that the wait time will be around 1.5h and in the end, I was waiting for 5h. No information misleading information about the waiting time extremely long waiting time Don't recommend it! The service after the wait was okayish, (as expected).
