Review titled excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Melissa Franklin - Posted on 03 April 2024
On the 29th March I began to experience serious breathing difficulties after having a high temperature. My husband called 999 and within a short period of time 3 ambulance men arrived. They were so kind and professional and eased my anxiety greatly. i was given salbutamol to open up my airways via a mask. This by Gods grace enabled me to begin to breathe again. I was taken by the ambulance to A and E Derriford Hospital, Plymouth later diagnosed with acute viral illness. Now recovering well.

The paramedics were professional, helpful and very understanding. They really helped lighten a horrid situation and litter spirits while providing much needed medical attention.

I would like to thank the hospital and paramedics who treated me yesterday, the paramedic who stood out was the lady who treated me, she was so lovely and really comforting in my moment of need. I also cannot thank the other paramedics and hospital staff for all their time and care.

Review titled Absolutely the greatest care by the Paramedics
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My heartfelt thanks go out to the teams of paramedics working from the Somerford Ambulance Station. My elderly mother had two bad falls in the last 2 days. The teams were there within 10-15 mins. They went above and beyond there regular duties to help, advise and care for my mother who suffers from Dementia etc. Both teams helped with contacting outside help.. Etc. Outreach and BIcs to offer me support as I was struggling to care for my mother. Even going so far as to disengage a doorbell which was causing my poor mother to rise from her bed and then fall!! Also helping me with a difficult situation with family members. I am eternally grateful for both teams compassion, empathy etc. What a great NHS we are lucky to have Thanks once again teams.. You know who you are??

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rosamund Clarke - Posted on 20 January 2024
Although I had to spend over 10 hours in an ambulance waiting for a bed in Casualty my experience was made so much better than it could have been by the three crews who looked after me. They were unstinting in their friendly, cheerful and professional care of me. So, huge thanks to them#job well done!

Review titled Absolutely brilliant!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Douglas - Posted on 12 January 2024
Because my initial symptoms indicated that I might have suffered a stroke, an ambulance was initiated through 111. Response was quite quick and the two paramedics who attended, were bright, cheerful and immediately made me feel at ease and more relaxed. They exhibited total professional control in administering all the tests required of them, to illicit my state of health. Throughout all of this their manner never changed and their continuing pleasant and professional attitude was terrific. Eventually, their mutual agreement of diagnosis, was that I had actually suffered a TIA and not a full blown stroke. They provided full information as to what would happen next, by advising that I would now be referred to a Transient Ischaemic Attack Clinic, along with a temporary emergency medical pack. They then left as they arrived, in high spirits, which left me in a much better place. After attending the TIA clinic, the following day, their prognosis was 100% justified that I had suffered a TIA. Thank you to both of you for all your help and support.
