Lostwithiel Medical Practice aims to provide high quality, accessible and convenient services for the benefit of all our patients.  We provide a wide range of NHS and extended services to include dispensing, orthopaedic and gastroenterology outpatients, minor operations, ante and post-natal services, family planning, sexual health, anticoagulation monitoring, asthma and COPD clinics, spirometry, blood pressure monitoring, diabetic clinics, cervical smear and chlamydia screening, medication/drug monitoring, child immunisations and minor injuries.  We plan to extend outpatient services when permitted.   From 2013 our own website can be found : http://www.lostwithielmedicalpractice.nhs.uk/

Telephone advice is always available.   We offer a triage system daily to ensure patients are seen at the earliest opportunity by the appropriate clinician and on-the-day appointments where a medical problem cannot wait.   We have a flexible appointment system with both prebookable and urgent slots and regularly review this to ensure we reflect the needs of our patients.

We are open from 8.00am every weekday morning not closing until 6.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.   We extend the closing times on Tuesdays and Thursdays to 8.00pm and provide convenient additional doctor and nurse appointments for those who cannot come to the surgery during the day;  we do not close at lunchtime.

We are a dispensing practice for patients who quality for this service.

Attached community stafff can provide district nursing, elder-care, mental health, cancer/MacMillan and social services (including access for carer support) for those who are housebound.

We have set up a Patient Reference Group so that patients can be involved in deciding the additional services they would like the practice to provide in the future.   Visit our website for more details.

The practice has published its first newsletter for patients and attempts were made to add it to this website - however, only one page can be attached at any one time.   The full newsletter can be picked up at the surgery whenever you are passing - or make a special detour!  Meanwhile, a drawing of the surgery building has been successfully added here.
