  1. Review titled Welcoming, Caring Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom and Janet Aldridge - Posted on 16 August 2022

Met by friendly, helpful staff on reception, saw Izzy practice nurse, who was efficient, very kind and reassuring, an altogether great experience as newly registered patients. At a time when everybody is under stress, it was not transferred to us as patients

  2. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mac - Posted on 25 July 2022

I rang the surgery on 4 July and was given the details to register for a Push Doctor appointment, which I did and had a consultation later that day. The Push Doctor referred me to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, who contacted me with an appointment on 11 July. I was seen by the registrar, who arranged an immediate biopsy, and this was completed and I left barely an hour after arriving. I had my stitches removed on 22 July, leaving the surgery only a couple of minutes after my appointment time. Excellent service by all parts of the NHS that I dealt with. Very impressive.

  3. Review titled Pretty much no care for patients.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 July 2022

I have Covid. I have a rare neurological condition. I should get free Covid treatment. Tried calling and contacting via their website. No one helped. I did however get some great help the other day for a different issue from a fab doctor which is surprising. The service normally makes me think I'm not cared about

  4. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was on holiday in this country and found I had forgotten one of my medications which I need to take twice a day. I called in to a local pharmacy who asked me to phone my own surgery which I did. I spoke to a very helpful receptionist who said she would arrange with a doctor to electronically send a prescription over which happened later that day so I was able to get my medication . I was very impressed with the service I received from WMC so thank you.

  5. Review titled Awful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by John Redmond Ross - Posted on 05 July 2022

I was discharged from hospital with a low INR number and into the hands of my GP. At the same time I moved and registered with this practice. 12 days and they still don't have me on the system, I have not had an INR test and have no idea if I am taking the correct dose of medicine. Avoid this practice, the FOH staff are very help helpful, after that it all falls to pieces.

  6. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Maureen Turner - Posted on 12 May 2022

ur Review: Today I met with my allocated doctor, and was able to thank him for the attention that he and his colleagues paid to my husband (who is diabetic) and had COVID - my husband had breathing problems and his sugar readings went very high and the paramedics came at 4.00 am and the next morning the doctor called - and every day for around 5 days to made sure he was OK as the COVID made the AF return. I felt safe and the practice made sure he was fine - he is now having a pace maker fitted in a few weeks time - thank you again Rose Steet Medical Centre.

  7. Review titled Very Poor Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Stephen Brunt - Posted on 08 November 2022

I'm an elderly patient with a skin complaint and after many days trying to get an appointment, I finally tried E Doctor. After this consultancy I was told to make an appointment. Again I tried many times and eventually spoke to a receptionist around midday, who informed me to try again first thing in the morning. I then had to explain that the E Doctor told me to arrange an appointment, that my father has had several skin cancers removed and that I was very concerned for myself, I then accused the practice of not caring, at which point I was put on hold for a minute and then told I would get a call back in the afternoon. This happened and I saw a doctor that very day, who inspected my condition and provided a prescription to use. The cream worked very well and the condition reduced, so as advised I stopped the medication. In August the condition occurred again and i used the cream until it disappeared. It has started again and this time the cream is not working, the local Pharmacist suggests I see a Doctor and once again I cannot get an appointment!! In addition, I note that the practice is advertising for more Patients, I ask why when they cannot attend to the ones they have.

  8. Review titled Very helpful reception staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Linda Hobbs - Posted on 25 May 2022

I had a difficult situation regarding a controlled drug that I have to take. As I had recently moved into the area, my records had not been updated from my previous Rheumatologist. As this drug can only be prescribed by a Rheumatologist and my dosage had been increased around the time I moved, I was running short of tablets before going on holiday. The lady I spoke to on the Reception desk, was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to sort out the problem. She rang me later in the day to let me know that she had been able to speak to my previous Rheumatology team and update my records according. She also contacted one of the doctors to write me a prescription before I went on holiday. I was very grateful for the time it took for her to sort out the problem.

  9. Review titled Rude receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mark - Posted on 10 May 2022

Called into the practice this afternoon to ask what is the process used by the practice if having an adverse reaction with one of the prescribed medications and to discuss a "plan B". I'd been next door at pharmacists and the GP Practice was not at all busy. I have Parkinson's Disease and verbal communication can be difficult. It becomes more difficult when I am anxious or upset. I explained as best I could and the receptionist after a long staring silence simply said "... and"? I said I didn't understand but was then interrupted with a rather aggressive "I'm not medically trained". I didn't want medical advice only to know what the practice procedure was (I'm a new patient). Very sarcastically I was told to ring or call-in to the practice at 8 am. With an attitude of surely you know this! I said calmly that the conversation had left me feeling anxious and belittled. The response was a loud "no...no...no"! That such a simple question should have this response in a GP practice is unsettling to say the least. My Parkinson's may have meant my words sounded a little unclear or disjointed but surely a receptionist would be aware of conditions like mine. I was made to feel like a fool or an irrelevance and even now I feel hurt and anxious. Please Wokingham Medical Practice consider some front-of-house staff training. It isn't at all right that I should be left feeling this way.
