    Absolutely appalling service, the receptionists are rude and ignorant! I am not impressed at all, the waiting was over 30 mins both times I visited and I think it’s awful when they could call and warn they are running late, what shocked me the most was the ignorance of reception when asked if it was going to take much longer! Absolutely disgusting!

We are sorry that you had a wait for your appointment, we do try to ensure that our clinicians work to their rota timetable. However, sometimes there are circumstances beyond our control and some appointments do over-run. I take onboard if staff are running late, patients should be informed.     Friday the ninth of December at 13.38 I received a text from VMC inviting me to book an appointment for a blood pressure check. This was accompanied by a link, and although trying many times to connect, it always failed.

    We just had the appointment in the morning by 5 pm everything was done including the prescription and medication.Very handful the pharmacy in situ. Great practice. Nonetheless everything was nice and clean and staff friendly and professional.

    I am ashamed of being registered with such GP surgery. Never in my life while trying to book an appointment I felt so much refused and instead of getting help am simply block by the receptionists, is like a brick wall between patient and the doctor. Invasion of privacy in the name of "triage" as they call it. When asking for an appointment the receptionist try to "refer you to a pharmacy like your problem is not important and if they are actually qualified to assess your health condition, ridiculous. They come to the point even to tell you what medication will be given by the doctor. I didn't know the receptionists were clinical qualified. This surgery is for sure one of the worst in Eastbourne, since they merge the three surgeries all together, they simply lost the ability to consult patients, big big mistake, but of course money first patient maybe after if receptionist decide so of course. This so-called telephone appointments when you of are very lucky to get one are nothing else than chit-chats, this is no way of diagnosing a health condition. Apologies for my honesty but that's my feeling of healthcare that this surgery is offering in the last three years. Thank you very much!!

    Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback to Victoria Medical Centre. I am very sorry that you have received unsatisfactory service from us. All our Receptionists & Administration staff are trained from a non clinical perspective to triage symptoms received from the patient/caller to the most suitable clinician available, this may not always be with a General Practitioner as we have a wide range of specialists and clinicians onboard that may be better suited to a patients condition or symptoms. With regards to your feedback regarding being advised what medication the clinician may provide or general chit-chat I will be investigating this further as I appreciate that this is not suitable or useful coming from a non-clinical person and should never be a situation a patient is in with any of our administration or reception team. We are currently looking into better and positive ways in which patients are able to speak with the administration team which includes our telephone system. In the meantime there are a number of ways in which you are able to contact the surgery to arrange an appointment. If you have access to a smart phone or a computer you can contact us online for medical and administration queries via Engage Consult which is available from our website or via the NHS App. For anyone who doesn't have personal access digital technology our Digitial First Beacon site has Pods for patients to use to access the internet for Engage Consult and other health information.     I cant fault the Centre now, the staff have always been good, but the systems now seem to be on track. I can now say that the whole experience is pleasant and better than before. I would recommend this surgery to everyone.

    I have a recently developed respiratory difficulty. Was seen for assessment the day after I first called the practice. Three tests and and x-ray all arranged within the month and medication provided in the interim. Everyone I dealt with was helpful and friendly. So pleased to be registered with the practice. Cannot thank them enough.

    Been with them since July 2020. To date it has been woeful, kicked out of their practice twice due to admin errors and had to take letters down twice threatening them with the BMA. I spent days trying to get through £50 on Pay As You Go phone. Finally got through yesterday and was told I would get a prescription for pain relief and they would text me or phone. 9.30 next day and nothing despite their having received a letter from A&E as to continuing problems with my left arm and recommending MRI scan, no help, no communication and no pain relief

I will be looking into the events that took place surrounding the issues you have encountered to ensure this breakdown in communication doesn't happen again. Our telephone wait times are unsatisfactory and not where we would like them to be. We have seen a rise of 4000 telephone calls per month in the last few months and are continuously working on improving this and training new staff to help with this increase.     I have just moved from this practice, thank goodness, you can't get an appointment to actually see a doctor just a phone call ,which you have to wait an hour on the phone, just for that. If you're lucky enough to get into the building, it's very nice ,three levels, loads of very nice chairs, with no one on them. My old doctors in Bolton road was fine, but the new doctors I have just moved to, are brilliant.

    My daughter was very sick and called GP for an appointment. The operator after taking some information said that the Doctor will call back which did not happen. Very unfortunate that getting through the calls take more than 15/20 mins and the end result no appointments or no call from GP.
