  1. Review titled Failing organisation

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having had experience of this practice for a number of years I have sadly watched the GP service go from excellent to what can only be described as chaotic and dysfunctional. Whilst I'm sure the GP's and Nurses and support staff are doing their very best to ensure good patients outcomes, whoever is now managing the practice is clearly implementing systems which hinder access to the medical support required by the patients in their care. Anima is a case in point. Interestingly, Anima on their sales site suggest one of the key benefits of the system is to reduce telephone contact, I used Anima, had an appointment booked and confirmed by text but Anima had no record of this appointment so I still had to ring the surgery to confirm I had actually had one, so it's not even achieving it's key objective, given the need to contact the surgery via phone to confirm. I had asked to see a GP but once again saw a nurse practitioner who wasn't able to deal with my complaint. Total mess, I know the issue is funding but be honest with patients, stop pretending the system is working, you're wasting more money having to see patients multiple times to arrive at a diagnosis.

  5. Review titled Appalling online request service.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 May 2024

The new online only method of contact is awful! Only open till 2pm, no option of choice of time to be contacted back. The promises this would streamline services have sadly not been the case. I feel for the staff too and people who are not able to use Internet have no hopes of getting their request heard. Unable to arrange a vax appt, which I was texted about by phone. I was asked to contact surgery but phone system no longer let's you speak to someone to arrange appointment. I had to do an online request and am waiting for a call at some point. If I miss the call, will have to do another online request!

  6. Review titled Very disappointing experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Mark Davison - Posted on 23 May 2024

I am in pain due to a torn cartilage. It is affecting my mobility. I am lucky to have private medical care but always need a GP to sign one form prior to private treatment. Too hard that for Valens Brockwell Surgery - even when your GP is a few yards away in the building! After a day waiting for the the GP to sign the form I visited the surgery. My letter had not been opened and I was sent packing being told over and over again that it takes 5-7 days to have documents signed. There was no negotiation. How poor. No ‘extra mile’ here.

  7. Review titled What is the point

Rated 1 star out of 5

Have wanted to see a doctor face to face for over 12 months now to discuss several problems but to no avail. Now in my 60s and have been put on 2 life long tablets over the phone which i'm not happy about. I can see that work is been done behind the scenes by my online medical records but face to face contact to discuss my issues and treatment might help put my mind to rest. Getting through to the practice by telephone is an absolute joke so requires a extra trip to surgery to try and book a phone call appointment at the desk if your lucky. Put in my first request on Anima today as no one answering phone so will see how that goes but not holding my breath. Whats gone wrong? Practice has been fine until Valens have taken over and now you cant get an appointment. Doctors themselves have been great in the past when i have seen them but are they now all working from home? Totally lost faith in the practice now and not what i need at my age. Sort yourselves out please.

  8. Review titled absolute waste of time, no wonder people are dying

Rated 1 star out of 5

what a joke of a system, had a voice mail and a text from my gp to contact them to make an appointment, no idea why except i had been there few weeks previous about my heart but got told it was all ok, tried phoning and was in a queue for 3 hours to be told i have to do it online , went online there was no possible way to book an appointment except to select a symptom and go through that way, they contacted me back in 2 days to say they have made a phone appointment for me in 2 weeks time about the symptom i reported nothing at all to do with what i had wrote in the notes to them, its just not possible to make an appointment any other way, now im sitting worrying about what they wanted me for. what a stupid system

  9. Review titled Hopeless new system

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Fossil - Posted on 17 April 2024

I am 85yrs old, have use of a desktop computer, but this is not reliable, so have to ring for appointments. Usually start at 8am and often still waiting 40 minutes later. When finally get an answer, the doctors I am used to--therefore prefer to see--are very rarely available that day! Do they no longer work in surgery every day? Twice recently, have been told my preferred doctors were not in that day, so accepted to see others, but while waiting for my turn in the practice, actually saw one of my chosen doctors come out to call for a patient! Wasn't told they had no appointments available--was told they were not in surgery that day? Totally shabby treatment and this new appointment system is absolutely of no use to the patients--especially the elderly. There was nothing wrong with the way it used to be, when you rang your own surgery, and the receptionist there made your appointment for you--at least you knew you'd actually get an appointment! My worry is, that a lot of vulnerable patients could be put off trying to get appointments, due to all this ridiculous new system--but will anyone listen?

  10. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 April 2024

Has always been terrible at answering the phones. New Anima service is even worse, only open till 2pm. Then you get a text message saying you need to log in to get your answer, if it is an appointment with a clinician or Dr, there is no way to contact them if the time is unsuitable or if you have any queries. If you try and ring, you get the same message about 4 times telling you to stop ringing and let the phones be used for more vulnerable people. But on the message you receive with your appointment, you are told to contact the practice if the appointment is unsuitable - How?! Complete waste of Drs times ringing people who just need to be seen, complete waste of adminstration time making appointments that do not need to be made or at times that are unsuitable, such a waste of time and money and resources. There is literally no way to speak to a human being at the Surgery
