    My 75 yr old mother was waiting to hear from the clinic re UTI test results. Due to desperation she rang the clinic and was told that antibiotics had been sent to the chemist 6 days earlier - no-one had told my mother. She's had lots of other issues including not being told about test results that indicated she had an immune condition. There should be something in place to ensure patients are contacted when test results are obtained.

    Dear Anonymous, thank you for your feedback We are sorry that you mother has had a bad experience regarding her test results. All results are read by a clinician and any action concerning the result are passed on to the admin staff who contact the patient via phone call, SMS txt or letter to advise them of the action that is required.     My elderly father is housebound, they were given four days notice that he would require a home visit by the nursing team. They refused to visit it him to give an injection in his knee, he’s unable to walk, is elderly and housebound. This surgery is a disgrace!

    Dear anonymous, thank you for your feedback. Our Nursing Team at the surgery do not do home visits or give joint injections, the only time they do home visits are for flu and/or covid vaccinations. Our GP’s do home visits but not steroid injections as this must be done in a clinical environment due to infection control. As you have posted this anonymously, we are unable to investigate this further. If you wish to discuss this further, please contact me at the surgery.     Had a consultation with GP today. Was able to access same day appt by ringing at 8am exactly. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait but the practice fits me in. GP was friendly understanding and compassionate, as well as being thorough . Times are tough and I know everyone in the NHS is really digging deep, but I really appreciate everyone in this practice, from the Reception team, the practice nurses and the ANP as well as the GPs. Thank you.

It is lovely to hear positive reviews, our priority are our patients and as you have mentioned it is difficult to get though at 8am as everyone is ringing in at this time. We have on the day face to face and telephone calls, and we try to accommodate everyone as best we can.     Had bloods 2 weeks ago, received a letter about one thing, so I assumed everything else was ok. But something made me phone just to double check. The receptionist said something else was abnormal, but despite the phone message saying phone back after 2pm for results, there was nobody there who was medically trained to read results. And the next appointment they could give me to have the results read was in another 7 days. I phoned back to say I wasn't prepared to wait another 7 days for someone to read them and I asked for the office manager, she had already gone home at 5pm yet the surgery is open till 6.30pm. Oh and surprise surprise they could fit me in the following Monday for the nurse to read the results to me. This isn't the first time they've not read results either. My daughter was extremely poorly and needed urgent antibiotics but once again the results had not been read. Why do they make patients wait until after 2pm when there isn't anybody there to give results. It's so poor I'm sorry I ever moved to the surgery.

    Dear Patient, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry your experience regarding your blood results. We ask that patients ring after 2pm as this allows the Clinicians to read the results and to report on them. Our staff are not medically trained to read results but are able to give out any comments the clinicians have assigned to the results, this maybe to tell the patient the results are normal or that they wish to speak to the patient or for the patient to repeat the blood tests. Our staff work different shifts to accommodate us opening from 8am to 6.30pm. We again apologize for the upset this has caused you. Mrs. Carolyn Pimlott Website Complaints Manager

    I called in the practice on the off chance to see if someone was able to see me regarding a puncture wound sustained at work. The receptionist was understanding and said sit and wait and was seen by a doctor who gave me the necessary advice. Very helpful and helped with a unnecessary trip to accident and emergency . Thank you

    After describing symptoms to receptionist was relieved and surprised to be offered appointment at 4.15 that afternoon. After examination doctor referred me urgently to hospital. Had appointment for tests in 2 weeks. Have since had surgery. Doctor recently took the trouble to ring me to check on progress and ask if I needed any other help. Very grateful for prompt attention. Thank you.

Some patients feel that they shouldn't give a reason why the need an urgent appointment, but as you have said, you were seen on the day after speaking to our receptionist about your symptoms and upon seeing the GP they referred you urgently and you have since had surgery.
