    Seen nurse for my son injections, I was so worried but the nurse made the experience a lot easier then I fort. I asked if a gp could look at my son rash and the receptionist asked the doctors and was seen. The receptionist goes out the way to help every time. Really recommend this doctor surgery.

We know that it is a stressful for parents when their children are having their immunisations, and our nurses go out of their way to calm the child and most of the time the parent. We always make sure that children are seen if they are poorly and aim for them to be seen on the same day. Our reception staff are here to always help out patients.     Everyone complains but very few tell you a job well done. I saw a student doctor at the beginning of October becoz the nurse was sick. The following Friday he phoned me twice with my results and what to do going forward. The doctor then phoned me to confirm medication. A scan was requested a healthy eating consult and a excersize consult all within 3 weeks. I received a message requesting I phone and book a telephone consult with doctor to discuss the scan results. I was helped by the office personnel and given an approx time to expect call. Before the expected call I received another call from the doctors office different person but no less helpful. Very apologetic about the call having to be cancelled due to illness but to expect a call the following day and again gave me an approx time. The doctor called I had my result consult and again discussed the previous prescribed medication. All this happened within the space of 3 weeks and I can honestly say I am impressed. I very very rarely need or go to doctors and on this occasion they were there for me when I needed them. I know not everyone will agree but I can only comment on my personal experience. Thank you to all at elms for a job well done I really appreciated it x

    Dear Rena, thank you for your feedback it is much appreciated. We are a Practice who supports the University of Manchester Medical School and our Doctors Supervise Year 4 and 5 medical students, as well as Year 1 and 2 medical students who sit in with the Clinicians when they are consulting. Our year 5 students have their own clinics, and the GP will oversee the diagnosis. They will go above and beyond to follow up by ringing their patients if they have ordered tests for them. As with all Employers we have sickness, and we try our best to accommodate patient’s appointments when we have to re-arrange them. Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience with us.     My experience has been good. The doctor spent time listening to me and helped me with my illness. The doctor spent time discussing options with me and I didn't feel rushed

    Obviously the Receptionist thinks she is a GP I couldn’t have an appointment on 3 occasions over the past 4 months, 1st appointment because I said the reason was private said she was on Drs orders unless I said reason to her I couldn’t have an appointment, I might add there was people in queue behind me so it was even more embarrassing, 2nd & 3rd attempts on getting appointment was told I could have no GP appointment once again, in her opinion (the receptionist) I needed to go to A&E or have physio appointment which I had to take, Physio, was lovely & she immediately made a GP appointment & arranged tests I needed straight away, when she heard & seen my problem, I seen GP Next week but although she was ok she said she needed to refer me to a GP I’ve seen before as she was only a locum, what’s the point of filling in with locums when they can’t help you, although I have to say when I mentioned about being refused an appointment by the receptionist because I said it was private she did say I should have been given an appointment because that is my right to say that & I don’t have to give a reason, just wish the old GPS were still at Elms as there would not be any problems.

    Dear anonymous Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you have had a bad experience with a member of our reception team. Our reception staff may ask patients the reason for the appointment if it is on the day, this is to make sure you are directed to the correct clinician, GP, ANP (Advanced Nurse Practitioner) FCP (First contact Practitioner) or Care Navigation to an Opticians, or Pharmacist at any chemist (who can deal with minor ailments). We have Locum GPs at the surgery who help us when we have GPs on holiday, but they are regular locums and not from an agency. We are here to help our patients and not to refuse them an appointment, unless we have non available on the day, where we ask them to ring the following day. We offer pre-booked face to face and telephone appointments which can be booked 2 weeks in advance. Again, we apologise for your bad experience, and this will be discussed with all the reception/Admin staff.     I was greeted by my GP in a very friendly warm manner. I was given time to discuss my health needs, and at no time did I feel rushe. The outcome was very positive.

    My 12 year old daughter had an appointment with a doctor concerning acne on her face. I was expecting to either be told it wasn’t bad enough for treatment, or simply thrown some medication. I was very impressed when the doctor took the time to reassure my daughter and tell her she was beautiful despite hormones causing spots. The doctor made sure my daughter was fully involved in the conversation and answered the questions she had at a level she could understand. My daughter came away feeling listened to and happy with the course of treatment.

    The surgery were amazing in hearing my concerns about my daughter and being reactive and responsive and reassuring . Our doctor was thorough and even followed up a few days later . I felt truly heard and listened to . The reception staff were helpful and did what was needed to alert the staff to my concerns , even though they were busy , in my phone calls I didn’t feel it , because they were sensitive and reassuring. Amazing surgery to be with with my young family . Thank you all !
