  1. Review titled Utterly ridiculous

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Louise - Posted on 08 November 2022

Turned up at the ‘walk in’ centre after calling my GP since 8.15, getting through at about 8.40 to find there’s no appointments left. I arrived to find a poster on door saying they are no longer a walk in centre and to call a number to get a call back. I’ve currently been on phone for 57 minutes in a call queue, with the queue going down by 1 about every 20 minutes!! So thus is just another GP surgery I can’t get through to. What is the point of this service if it’s as inaccessible as my own GP surgery??

  2. Review titled Questionable receptionist

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ben - Posted on 24 November 2022

Called and made an appointment with the receptionist who said the doctor would call me back within 10minutes and asked if the number I called on is the best number to reach me. I said it was as I only use my mobile. No call so called back an hour later and spent 45mins in the queue. Then they closed. Called the next day spoke to a different receptionist who said I was called back on a landline. Which I don’t have so I don’t know where they got that from. she didn’t seem to care as she wasn’t working the day before and was apologetic that it had happened

  3. Review titled Can't get to talk to them, let alone an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Dan - Posted on 18 October 2022

Most frustrating. Been calling since opening, engaged all the time. eventually got into a queue "There are more than 5 in the queue". Over the next 31 minutes it counted down until I was number on in the queue, then "click" my call was answered an hung up! Disgusting service.

  4. Review titled Apoalling service

Rated 1 star out of 5

We were very badly and unprofessionally treated at the centre! Nonetheless a service manager emailed me asking to meet me to go forward; I’ve replied back but no response! Sheer appalling and unprofessional service that really needs looking at!

  5. Review titled Terrible service. Rude staff.

Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended what used to be the walk in centre. However, whilst the rest of us have had to return to normal, the same is not true of this particular health centre. The person on the intercom told me that I'll just have to phone and wait, and if I don't like that then I'm welcome to go somewhere else. Not a great opening experience there. I have currently been working for over an hour on the phone, and it is taking 25-30 minutes to move up a single space in the queue. This isn't even to speak to anyone with any clinical training. 25 minutes per slot in the queue just to speak to a receptionist, with a further 2 hour wait advised on the door to speak to someone with any medical training that can actually help. Whilst waiting and not moving up a single space in queue I spoke to the pharmacy next door, they looked at my open wound and told me that I have a staphylococcus infection which is responsible for the exacerbated exudation and very kindly changed the dressing on my aforementioned wound. The so called urgent treatment centre has no sense of urgency, or even the slightest inclination of patient care/treatment. Truly shocking service. I'd be better off waiting for the infection to spread and then attending the hospital than trying to recieve any primary care from this particular organisation.

  6. Review titled Disgusting service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Absolutely disgraceful service at this centre. I spent over an hour and a half on the phone to be "greeted" by a disgustingly rude receptionist. She asked me what I wanted, I said I needed to speak to a doctor or clinician so that I could recieve the treatment I was in need of. She said "well you need to go through me for that." A receptionist should not be a gate keeper for health care. She then asked me what I do for a living, my job has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not I recieve care. When the receptionist asked me what I wanted again I told her to speak to clinician or a doctor, and also the practice manager she hung the phone up on me. She took no details regarding how someone was to contact me. Or even asked what the condition was that I was requiring medical treatment for. It is an absolute disgrace that this particular individual is allowed to operate in a customer facing position, let alone one which is dealing with potentially vulnerable individuals. The receptionist also told me that I had not spent over an hour waiting on the phone just to speak to a receptionist. I have the call logs that show I was infact waiting that long for someone to take my call, and then not even process the call. I have seen another review where the health centre have advised someone to call back if they have a complaint. How exactly is a complaint meant to be logged about the service if when you ask to speak to the practice manager you are hung up on without your contact details being taken? How is a clinician or doctor meant to call me back to discuss my medical condition if the receptionist hangs the phone up without asking me for my name, number, or what is wrong with me? This establishment is a disgrace to the NHS and needs to seriously review the quality of staff that they have working for them.

  7. Review titled Great Doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Although getting an appointment at the UTC is not easy, and it should really be back to normal now post covid, the doctor I took my daughter to see tonight was probably the best doctor I've seen in many years. Knowledge, attentive, caring and gave us every confidence that he knew what he was doing, went above and beyond. Excellent consultation. He took time to understand the problem, didn't fob us off, gave holistic advice aswell as identifying the problem. Sometimes just having a doctor say " I can see you are really unwell" gives you confidence that you are being taken seriously. Very grateful.

  9. Review titled Constantly Engaged

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Rachel Wykes - Posted on 07 December 2022

I have used this service a number of times, but never has it been constantly engaged for nearly 48 hours! There is always a queuing system that can take a while, but at least you are in a queue. Please sort this out! The line should not be engaged 24/7.

  10. Review titled Usually happy with them but not this time

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Michelle - Posted on 14 July 2022

I’ve been using this practice for years and they’re usually great but since covid it’s not been so great. The doctors never want to see you. I thought I may have a uti but explained I didn’t want to just be given antibiotics without a urine test first but the dr said no one can do it for you so you’ll have to go to your gp?!! I don’t understand why none of the drs/healthcare workers could have done it? But she was happy to prescribe me antibiotics without checking first?. The reception staff are lovely though.
