  2. Review titled Outstanding care today - thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by S Potter - Posted on 01 January 2023

I called on New Year’s Day. I got to the front of the telephone queue very quickly (within 5 minutes). The receptionist I spoke to was very polite and helpful. I was advised a doctor would call me back within 2 hours but that it could take longer as the centre was very busy. The doctor called back within 30 minutes and was polite, friendly, professional and took my concerns seriously. I was offered the option of a prescription over the phone or a face to face appointment. I initially accepted the offer of a face to face appointment but was unable to make it due to being too unwell to leave my house. When I called back to explain and request to prescription instead, the receptionist was again very polite and helpful, and the doctor again called back very quickly and was very understanding of my inability to get to the surgery. The doctor wrote a prescription for me immediately which a friend was able to collect for me so I could begin treatment quickly. All in all, I did not expect such rapid service on a bank holiday when I know the NHS is under significant pressure and I am very grateful for the prompt, caring and professional service I received today. Thank you to all who assisted me.

  3. Review titled Rang 152 times, doctor never called back!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2023

I have rang the practice 152 times this morning, from 8 o’clock managed to make an appointment for my daughter after 30 min which was great as I’ve tried on Monday but no luck! Been told that a doctor will phone me after 4 o’clock. Rush home from work, my daughter rushed home from school, rang them around 5.30 to make sure that my daughter is still on the list, the lady from reception reassured me will get a phone call! That was a complete lie as it’s past 6 now I haven’t got any phone call, tried to ring them and a robot answered saying that the practice is closed for appointments, however they are opened till 6.30! It’s ridiculous the amount of time and effort I have put and to get this bad bad service! I won’t be able to the same thing tomorrow! So how can I get an appointment for my daughter! I am very disappointed with the practice and with the doctors that aren’t doing their jobs properly and with the system in general! Is so broken can you not see it’s not working and needs changing? I wouldn’t recommend the practice to nobody! A couple of weeks ago they did the same thing, saying that will ring me and never did! Poorly managed practice! Looking to change!

  5. Review titled Not able to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

I call from 8am to 10.30am 144 time continually engaged to try and get an appointment for my son, so decided to drive down to see if I could book in person , only to be told I need call to get a doctor to call back and book appointment, it was not the receptions fault, but this is a joke no wonder A&E is full of people that don't really need to be , will try again tomorrow if no joy will have to try 111

  6. Review titled Effective practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 January 2023

Using NHS 111, I found that the UTC was telephone only rather than walk-in, which I thought would be a problem but was actually very useful. I sent in my details and received a call from a doctor within 1 and a half hours, bearing in mind this was in the evening, just before closing time, on New Year's Eve (so one of the busiest days of the year). The doctor was very helpful, exceptionally clear in explaining all the possibilities of what my condition could be and provided some good advice options. Overall I am pleased with the service, but I'm glad I checked online beforehand about the telephone service only.

  7. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 December 2022

Been on phone over 2 hrs and no answer and on number 1 for over 1 hr. Is there something wrong with the phone lines or something. What a complete joke no wonder people are going to A & E. Putting more pressure on them because no one is answering.

  8. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Linda - Posted on 26 January 2023

Couldn’t get a GP appointment but was given this number for urgent treatment center. Well over 2hrs waiting in call queue and still didn’t get through. Instead of any medical assistance I feel like I’ve just been mugged… check your phone bill. £30 on a 2hr+ call that I didn’t even get to speak to a receptionist never mind an actual doctor.

  9. Review titled Wait on a call to be told they cannot serve

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 November 2022

I rang to talk about my daughter, I waited a long time. When eventually call has been taken, I am told they take no more patients today. Why do they not automise and make people wait unnecessarily!

  10. Review titled Utterly ridiculous

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Louise - Posted on 08 November 2022

Turned up at the ‘walk in’ centre after calling my GP since 8.15, getting through at about 8.40 to find there’s no appointments left. I arrived to find a poster on door saying they are no longer a walk in centre and to call a number to get a call back. I’ve currently been on phone for 57 minutes in a call queue, with the queue going down by 1 about every 20 minutes!! So thus is just another GP surgery I can’t get through to. What is the point of this service if it’s as inaccessible as my own GP surgery??
