    31st October. I telephoned Hughenden Surgery at 10.03. I am still waiting for a care navigator to answer at 11.25am. I will give it until 11.30am then write a letter. I don't know what else to do. I have been a patient of Hughenden Surgery since 1953 and I've never known it to be like this. The websites are also too confusing for older people - they just won't bother. It was so much better years ago.

    Everyone was very helpful.Though the signing in machine can be a little difficult at times. Telephone access is however the biggest single problem.

    I am due some results back from 5’weeks a go and I still can’t get hold of them as I can’t get through on the telephone…. Ever! It’s become a joke now. Either they have too many ppl registered and aren’t employing enough staff or it’s extreme bad management saving money. Get rid of the covid tents and look after your patients .

    Getting through on the telephone is frustrating and requires a good amount of patience. However, once an appointment has been made, the service is very good. It is probably worth informing patients that there is a requirement to wear a mask whilst in the surgery

    Thank you for your feedback. We are in the process of changing to a new telecommunications provider that is better equipped for GP surgeries. We expect the move to be completed by the end of November 2022. To reduce the need for patients to telephone the Practice we have enabled AskFirst, a triage tool for patients to request urgent appointments, and Patient Access, for patients to book routine appointments.     In the last week I have seen two different GPs, two different nurses (one twice) and been referred for further diagnostic and evaluating tests at Hughenden Valley GP Surgery. I have been incredibly touched and impressed at how caring and professional all the staff have been. My concerns have been taken seriously and I have been treated with care and respect. I feel humbled by all this when I know how incredibly stretched the NHS is in every way. Thank you all

    My personal recent experience with the surgery: Over several appointments, I have had good care and kindness from 2 doctors, a nurse and several receptionists. The process of making the appointment was hampered by a shortage of receptionists and a confusing phone set up (hence the loss of a star), but once the phone was answered, receptionists were very helpful.

    This once used to be a great surgery. Covid apart it seems that the surgery has totally lost its way, some staff are excellent but others are just plain rude and totally unhelpful with an awful attitude. Phone when eventually answered is laden with so much pointless information. It’s pot luck as to the ability of who answers the phone. The whole place needs a serious review of its whole management ethos. Which again is such a pity as the doctors that remain are first class. Please someone take this place by the horns and sort it out before it goes into total failure.

    The surgery is very hard to contact if you do get through expect a 30 min wait time. Econsult not usable which isnt of any help to get to talk or see a doctor. No idea why this has been like this for such a long time, Appreciate Covid, staff shortages etc - but no improvement made - was such a great surgery shame not now.

    It’s nearly impossible to get hold of anyone at this surgery, and once you do get through the process is unreliable. I’d not heard back any results in 5 weeks so I called to follow up and I was told they would have someone look into it. 2 weeks later I’d still not heard anything so called again to find nobody had even taken a look at my issue and only then did they book in for a GP to get back to me.
