    After getting through at 8.00am and being 7th in the clue my call was answered by a very respectful friendly receptionist. I was asked the reason for my call so that the Doctor would have some clue as to the issue and told I would get a call back during the day. The call came at about 2.30pm . The Doctor listened to my query which concerned my medication and went out of his way to explain in great depth the reasoning behind why I was on certain medication. He then listened to my concerns and together we came to an agreement that pleased me with the knowledge that in a month the situation would be assessed. Throughout the phone call I never felt rushed but did feel listened to. Although I would much prefer a face to face consultation I appreciate that the NHS and GP situation has changed greatly but was extremely pleased with the service I was given.

    Absolutely appalling levels of patient 'customer' service demonstrated by the reception team, who are apparently 'trained' to advise patients of the options available to them. It's a shame they haven't been trained to demonstrate good manners, the ability to allow somebody to finish speaking before responding, and overall professionalism when dealing with people who may be suffering a great deal due to poor health. It's unsurprising people avoid going to their GP when you have to battle through the terriers to book an appointment. The Practice Manager(s) should hold staff accountable, as the vast majority of negative reviews demonstrate the need for action at this surgery.

    After reading reviews I thought people must be exaggerating about how difficult it is to get an appointment but not one bit of it the system has to be used to to be believed. If you have the time and patience to get through to the receptionist (lots of calls and lots of waiting) then you are interrogated by the receptionist who is under the impression they are a doctor and ask questions which are none of there business and then make the decision if you may see a doctor I was told I was not a priority and could see a doctor in 4 weeks time This is appalling don’t often ask to see a doctor but when I do I expect a diagnosis by a doctor and not the receptionist I have asked for a meeting with the practice manager I wait to see if this is easier than seeing a doctor

    I waited several weeks for an appointment only for the surgery to cancel my appointment the day before via automated text ! When I contacted to request additional appointment I was told I would have to re book again and wait another 4 weeks to see a doctor? Surely if the surgery cancel I shouldn't have to go back to the end of the queue .. It is impossible to get through to book appointments via phone , the practice simply is not fit for purpose.

    I am appalled that I rang the surgery at 8am this morning, got through after 25 minutes and was hung up on. I then had to ring again to be waiting another hour to tell another receptionist what I was ringing for the first time. I was told I would get a call back later that day. It got to 6pm and I had still not received a call back. So I rang the surgery again to tell them I have not yet received a call back and I was told with a very poor attitude I need to ring back in the morning. This is ridiculous that I have waited all day to not even receive a call back.

    Called to make an appointment re potential skin cancer (disfigured mole). Was told to ring back the following day at 8am by the receptionist as would likely get same day appointment. Rang 274 times next morning, was connected twice and when picked up was cut off immediately. Managed to get through after another 53 calls and used the ring back service as I was 16th in the queue. When they rang back after 45 minutes, all appointments had gone and was advised it was a general appointment and given a date in a months time. How this can be called a service is beyond me. I work in the public sector and pay significant levels of tax and National Insurance for this level of service. It’s embarrassing. Rating 1/10

    Absolutely impossible to get through to HB Surgery at any time of the day. Needed to get in touch to get my vulnerable elderly mothers cancer tablets sorted and had to resort to going up in person. The practice is clearly not fit for purpose. The receptionists who do work there though do a fantastic job for the pittance they are paid.

    I will start with a positive, as an nhs senior manager myself I always wish to highlight exemplar practice! I have recently gone through a testing time for my health and I can only commend the nurses, healthcare assistants and doctors for their outstanding professionalism, compassion and willingness to go the extra mile. However, I cannot reciprocate this praise for the reception staff, well specifically certain members of staff who has been exceptionally rude to me on several occasions, has been over heard mocking me and does not demonstrate an ounce of what I have mentioned above. I have repeatedly defended this practice with regards to the medical and nursing care delivery but I must concur with others around the administration. I wholeheartedly understand the pressures gps and the nhs face, more than most, most likely and if a member of my team was behaving in the nature some of the reception team do I would be seriously looking at a the training I provide staff with, value based recruitment and ultimately my leadership. When a GP phones you as they have checked your records and are concerned you have rung and been ignored it should ring alarm bells! I shall be contacting the practice manager once I can obtain details, as the website is currently down

    Terrible to get through to make an appointment speak to a doctor or get results been on hold for over an hour and it’ closes in 10 mins , Rang many times before constantly engaged by time you get through know appointments and receptionist think there doctors and want to know too much information and if they don’t think it’s bad enough don’t get an appointment it’s not getting any better worse than ever , once you get to see a doctor doctors are brilliant but trying to get on is terrible

    This is now the 3rd in the last 12 months I’ve had the unfortunate need to try and book a appointment each time over 200 try’s to call and again I’m going to get a lift to the surgery to actually wait to see a receptionist to physically book a appointment in person!! I have mentioned this to the surgery and they say they are working on a new system but they said that a year ago and nothing as changed !!! A total joke

    Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and frustrations with us. There have been several changes over the past few months, including a new queue buster telephone system which will call patients back rather than them waiting in the queue, and we have reintroduced online booking of appointments. we would encourage all our patients to use the NHS app or the online access we offer, as this will allow you to manage most of your needs without the need to call us, if we can leave the phone lines only for same day urgent matters there will be no issue with poorly patients getting through to us. We have been looking at the use of the phone system by patients and over 50% of the calls we receive could have been dealt with via online services. We continue to work hard to find new and different ways for our patients to contact us to alleviate the frustration of making calls to the practice.
