  1. Review titled Great experience!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The lady I had today was incredibly lovely, warm and non judgmental. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a great experience at the dentist. All the staff I came across at my appointment were lovely aswell! Highly recommend

  2. Review titled Great dentists, Unkind Reception.

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 April 2024

On the three occasions I have been here, the dentists themselves have gone above and beyond to accommodate me and make sure I feel safe due to my mental health issues. The two ladies that I see, the dentist and assistant are both lovely, warming, welcoming and kind as well as brilliant at their jobs, so 5 out of 5 stars for them. However, the receptionist has misinformed me and my mom who accompanies me on two separate occasions. The first time, in a rude tone, getting huffy about how we didn't bring a certificate because we thought it would be on the system and wouldn't be needed every single time. We said we would make sure to bring it next time, to which she said "oh, you wont need it next time, only when starting a treatment" Come in today and it was "Do you have your certificate with you?". Naturally, I was surprised because of what she told us the last time and said "You literally told us last time that we would not need it, only when starting a treatment", to which she looked at me like I was an alien, embarrassing me in front of all the other patients, like I was randomly and out of nowhere, trying to start an argument. No responsibility for the misinformation. My mom made sure to say that she will bring it absolutely every time due to the constant hassle and lies. No kindness. There are a way things should be said, in a kind tone, that is welcoming. Not rude or cruel, especially when patients such as myself, are suffering from long term mental illness and struggle to even get to the dentist in the first place due to it and many people have a phobia of dentists or health anxiety. I am now home and feeling on edge due to already going through a depressive episode and being pushed further into spiralling. I feel god awful, belittled and unworthy, to put it quite frankly. People have no respect for others anymore which is extremely dehumanising when we all have to share this world and owe it to each other to have some basic human decency. It took me 8 years to be able to muster up the courage to seek help from a dentist and after suffering from severe pain from an untreated tooth that needed a root canal which I coped with by myself for half a year, I finally decided that i really needed help, mentally ill or not. So all of this suffering and struggling just to be looked down on is disheartening and upsetting and makes me genuinely feel like I should go back to the way I was before. Why any of this was necessary, I don't know. I signed up to get my teeth sorted out, not to be bullied, or humiliated by the reception or receptionists.

Visited today (17\11\23) with my adult son who has Autism. The dentist was incredibly kind and really put my son at ease. She explained everything she was doing and made sure he felt comfortable. My husband and I were also seen by her and cannot fault her. Many thanks

They had a dentist short due to ill health but still managed to fit me in at 9am. The staff were polite, apologetic and very courteous. Great to see in the NHS.

I needed two emergency appointments and was seen quickly both times. The Dentist was lovely. He clearly explained what the problem was and my treatment options. I highly recommend this Dental Surgery.

  6. Review titled Shiny new practice awful dentist

Rated 1 star out of 5

Though The Surgery Dental Practice at Hadlow is newly refurbished, the new premises do not make up for the abrupt and disagreeable manner from the main dentist in charge. Do not recommend.
