  1. Review titled Offhand unfriendly receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

Thought this was a find - NHS dentist even if half an hour's drive away. Very nice dentist but surprised at level NHS charges (in fact we were told we were being treated as private patients but would be admitted to NHS register at start of new tax year next week) and being asked to prepay for a hygienist appointment at the start of April. Yesterday the hygienist appointment due this week was cancelled. Rang to rebook and was offered a month further ahead 'as the hygienist is on long term sick' - said we would think about it and rang off then when range back when we remembered we had Prepaid! Said we would prefer a refund and was then treated in a very off hand manner - hygienist in one month good, she said, NHS typically could not offer for 6 months (this, at a high prepaid charge) - we gave details for the refund and were advised it could take a couple of weeks. This has put us totally off this practice. The dentist was very nice but I saw no real cost difference for check up (no issues) and scale from private care a short distance from my home. Now the hygienist we really wanted to see is long term sick and the attitude on the phone - which we'd heard to be honest previously sitting in the waiting room - was very poor. This is the take it or leave it treatment you will get when it is so hard to find an NHS dentist.

  2. Review titled Unable to get treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been registered at this practice as an NHS patient for several years and have had good treatment.I last attended about 2 years ago. After a week of bad toothache I finally got an appointment today. What I thought was a dentist examined me and took an x-ray. I was told that I needed further treatment but they were not qualified to provide it. Worse still they said there was no dentist in the practice at present and I would have to re-register and join a waiting list but they were currently not accepting 'new' NHS patients. Absolutely appalling. To add insult to injury I had to pay £25 for the consultation.

  3. Review titled Total disregard for myself and two year old

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Emma Rich - Posted on 06 December 2022

I had an appointment that was booked in the summer for myself and my two year old, that i had been waiting five months for. A week before we were due to go in I was told, very flippantly, that it had been cancelled and that they were no longer taking patients. I wrote a letter to the manager in hope they would reconsider, as I had missed another opportunity with another dentist due to having found one with them. I was contacted by a manager from a different area explaining it was fine to have my appointment and to let reception know. Which I did. I was then contacted again via email explaining that in fact that wasn't the case and she had got it wrong. I didn't ever get a response back from my letter from the surgery, nether did I hear back from reception as promised. I feel i have been treated unfairly and extremely unprofessionally.
