  1. Review titled Great if your a private patient

As with everyone having hard times the choice to go from a private scheme to nhs was a necessity due to monetary constraints. Having been there for years before the current owners everything was fine and even with the current owners until I couldn't afford to go private anymore. When myself and my wife had to start using the nhs side we didn't see the same dentist twice they want to send you to Birmingham to have an extraction as they didn't want to do it. They wanted 2 other teeth to be done by the consultant at Manor hospital but he refused as it was work they needed to do. Then when booked in for the appointments unfortunately I had to cancel the first 2 of 3 but both times phoned the surgery with plenty of notice as work issues meant I was not in the area. The last time the time was different to what I had on my card from themselves. I had them phone me at tell me I had missed my appointment and that no one would see me. Having heard nothing for about a month I phoned to book an appointment to be told I wasn't a patient there any longer and neither was my wife. No letter no contact only because I phoned them. I appreciate what people have to contend with at work as working all over the country in customer service for many years has taught me this but this is not about the the receptionists or hygienists its about a 2 tier system that that this surgery operates and I've seen both sides of it and the difference is absolutely staggering. They should be ashamed as perhaps one day they will be in this situation and have to deal with it. Doughtful though as making way too much money on the private side of the nhs. Anyway if your a private patient good for you. If your nhs patient good luck.
