  1. Review titled Rude manager

Rated 1 star out of 5

Completely rude manager. I had an appointment booked several months ago to see the hygienist and dentist. I specifically asked to have these booked on the same day due to work. Both were booked in but my appointment got cancelled on the day by the dentist. I was absolutely fine with this but said can you rearrange my appointment with the hygienist as I need them both on the same day. I was then told I would have to pay a cancellation fee, even though they were the ones that cancelled my appointment first. I said I wasn’t going to pay the cancellation fee and the receptionist said the manager can discuss this with me via phone call in a couple days. I never received this phone call. A couple months later I booked again but was told I’d have to pay the cancellation fee. Again I said I wasn’t paying it and the receptionist said I can discuss this with the manager via phone call. She said she’ll still keep my appointment booked as the manager will call me. I never received a phone call until the day before my appointment just to confirm it by the receptionist. I said I still haven’t spoke to the manager so am I expected to still pay the fee. She replied saying the manager is sitting right next to her so she’ll pass the phone over. The first words out of her mouth were ‘what do you want’. Not exactly a polite way to talk to a customer, especially from a manager. I tried to explain the situation but was told either pay the fee or find another dentist. I have been here for years and never cancelled an appointment. No customer loyalty and only care about the money. I think someone needs to investigate the managers customer service as I have read plenty of reviews saying the same thing.

  2. Review titled Diabolical. Steer clear

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Frances Phillips - Posted on 23 November 2023

Patient since approx 2000. Whole family used to go. After covid found husband and both children had been removed as Nhs pts but no notice given. I was "allowed" to remain Nhs as I have medical problems and can't use the stairs (no lift) just before covid I had a filling removed and replaced. Charged. A few weeks later had to go back as filling was cutting my tongue. Charged again. Covid hit. In 2022 in pain I had to have the same filling removed. Charged but only had a "temp filling" which I needed to have replaced in a month. No appointments available as Nhs pt. Was told to wait til it caused a problem. March 2023 recd a letter saying removed from Nhs list but they would honour the work started. Spoke to practice manager - who said it would only be replaced when filling caused pain, and stated again as a Nhs pt to finish work. Nov 2023, pain and filling falling out, telephoned was told I had to pay privately. I insisted not, agreement made that if I had "proof" it would be Nhs. Tonight phone call from practice manager. I have to pay privately as they only saw me for pain back in 2022 (obviously filling magically removed itself and refilled itself). Then I was informed as I had cancelled an appointment for 7 April 2023 as an Nhs pt I couldn't now have it done as a Nhs as I had already cancelled once. My husband and I have checked every Diary known (he works shifts so need to keep track) and the supposed appointment I cancelled was on Good Friday (didn't realise they opened on that day). The practice manager has never had great customer service skills, but is now getting worse. I used to highly rate this practice, but given all of the above I'm taking my money elsewhere. (Not that I need much dental work, only have 2 fillings) but I begrudge paying the practice anymore money. They have actually lost 4 patients as we are all going elsewhere

  3. Review titled Good value

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Damaged my tooth, they got me in the next day, I hardly had to wait at all, before in with the dentist. Some emergency work done, when I went to pay, I was staggered and delighted that it only cost £10.00, this is really good value, didn't think you could get anything done for a tenner at the dentist anymore. Also I found the staff to be polite and friendly.

  4. Review titled Went once, never again

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by L Graham - Posted on 14 August 2023

I arrived 5minutes late, but due to 1 receptionist taking so much time and other one on her mobile phone it ended up with me being 15 minutes late. It was an emergency appointment as I had an infection in my mouth. Dentist spent 10 minutes going through my medication and 5 minutes looking in my mouth. Told me I had an ulcer on my tongue, that I more or less imagined a lump I could feel and see at the back of my throat and filed top of tooth at back of mouth as it was sharp but I had to ask for something to be done and it was irritating my tongue (hence the ulcer I guess). He was more concerned about the fact I was late than treating me in my opinion, I left there with the problem I went in with, no antibiotics or advice for infection in my gums or ulcer on tongue. In fact the only advice I got was not to be late for next appointment, to which I replied there won’t be a next appointment because I won’t be back. I had to go to my doctor for antibiotics for infection in my mouth. I have now found another dentist who is absolutely amazing and put me totally at ease, I have to have 2 teeth out, of which 1 is actually broken in half and that’s maybe where infection got in. Is concerned that i still have ulcer on my tongue which he will treat if it is still there on my next appointment and oh!! That lump I imagined….. I have to have a biopsy on and most likely will have it removed as it is irritating the back of my throat!!!!

  5. Review titled Appalling phone call from practice manager

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 May 2023

I received a phone call from the manager stating I had not paid my bill when I tried to explain that I had, I was told over and over again that I hadn’t paid. No customer service at all and that is from the manager. I would never talk to patients the way they do. Made me feel like a criminal. I have had No apology given since they realised payment was received.

  6. Review titled Horrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 March 2023

They changed my appointment but didn’t tell me of the change. When I got there they said I was late because my appointment had been changed. They claimed to have told me but when the receptionist called me the day before to confirm my original appointment she didn’t mention to me that they had changed it due to an emergency. Instead she accused me of being late. I’ve never seen such treatment in England my entire life. Absolutely disgusting and appalling. The “manager” came and she was defending her staff, saying they never forget anything. Such service is embarrassing. Just because I’m an NHS patient I get treated badly. I don’t think such service should be left unchecked tbh.

  7. Review titled Terrible care for patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2023

Have not seen a dentist for nearly 3 years with my two children due to Covid and shortages of NHS patients. Every time we rang to make a check up appointment we were told they couldn't make them and then when we ring again we are told we have been struck off the NHS list because we haven't attended an appointment in too long! Sadly, the practice will use every excuse and opportunity to strike patients off the NHS list. And the practice manager has flagged us on their computer system so every time I ring to make an appointment I am told they can't give me an appointment and that the practice manager will have to ring me back. She never does. She has explained to me how hard it is for them to find NHS patients and seems to have no consideration for the patients left to lack of dental care. Instead of looking out for patients and feeling looked after, it is a constant battle making appointments.

  8. Review titled Absolutely appealing service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 January 2023

I have had mie and my partners check up cancelled more than three times and not had a check up in nearly three years!! The customer service skills of the receptionists are appalling and the practice manager is even worse. They argue with you and talk over you saying and I quote "its not their problem" and "I should be lucky to even have a dentist". How can I be lucky when we haven't seen anyone in three years!! They tell us to just book an emergency appointment if anything is wrong, but you can't even get one of those. Then tell me if I don't want any problems to pay private with them. Discussed about what I can do to have my teeth checked to prevent any deterioration, advised to see a hygienist for £39, then after asking for more details and speaking to three different people they said doing that would take us off the NHS list. Having to go through threw different people for simple advice ans only getting the full details after this shows they have no clue about their own services. Spoke to the practice manager and she completely ignored anything I said, shouting at me and belittling me. After reading numerous reviews of this suergy I'm not surprised their rating is so poor.

  9. Review titled Horrendous manager and poor communication Avoid.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2022

After booking an appointment the previous week under my NHS banding as a level 2 payment £65, when it came to paying the practice tried to charge me £165 claiming it was a private treatment. When it was explained to the practice manager (who has the people skills of a teaspoon) the error was their end not mine I was told 'You should not be booking appointments beyond your means if you cannot afford to pay them'. It was reiterated multiple times that there had been an error their end and I did not take kindly to being accused of lying. As someone who finds the dentist a very traumatic experience, my emotions got the better of me, as she continued to gaslight me, and refused to cooperate by asking her staff what had happened at the previous visit, just talking over me the entirety of the time. Personally, I'd rather let my teeth fall out than endorse a company that promotes such horrendous levels of customer care.

  10. Review titled Care for NHS customers

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Butterworth - Posted on 10 November 2022

After not seeing an Nhs dentist since before Covid, the practice accommodated my enquiry to see a dentist even though there is no Nhs dentist at the practice anymore. A locom travels to the practice once a week to see Nhs patients. The reception and practice manager were amazing and made me feel at ease. The service was amazing.
