My daughter was having her braces done from this practice. The reception staffs were extremely helpful, but most unfortunately the experience with the orthodontist was not really amazing. On her first appointment on fixing the braces, she was angry with the assistant and was keeping on shouting on her and ultimately my daughter had many cuts on her lips even though she apologised by the end, it was not a good start. Then during following appointments, she was always in a hurry and finishing the changes in few minutes. Eventually the braces were removed and we could not find any difference in her bites, she was not having any irregular teeth, her problem was only the bite. So the teeth were not remarkably moved down and she claimed that this is the maximum better she could do. Then she had her retainer appointment, which was loose fitted on one side, when mentioned, she say that it is meant to be like that. But after leaving the practice my daughter complained that it’s coming out of the teeth and touching the tongue while taking. So I called the reception and they gave me another appointment for come back and check. Through out today’s appointment she was keeping on saying that my daughter has no more free NHS appointments and she will be a private patient next time. I am working in NHS and I know that , it doesn’t need to be that highlighted, but our real concern of the loose fitting braces was not at all her concern. In my family 4 of us are working for NHS and we are all paying NI which is the funding for NHS and this is the first time our family used a costly service. Definitely she is not aware of this, but I don’t know why she has to emphasise about the private service, may be she is expecting my daughter to come back sooner as this time the orthodontist didn’t do a proper procedure? Anyway we managed to see the doctor and she convinced my daughter that this is the feeling of having a retainer and this time she was good enough to explain.
